Research On Contemporary University Students’ Honesty Value Education

Honesty is an old and often used word.For public officials,it is the political morality they must observe;for the people,it is the work ethic they must have.Establishing the correct honesty value is not only the public morality in social lives,but also a personal virtue in personal lives.College students are the future of the nation and the reliable builders and successors of the cause of socialism.The honesty value education for them can help them cultivate excellent individual morality,shape sound social morality,and lay a solid force for the realization of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.The definition of concept is the starting point of the study.The relevant theories provide scientific guidance for the study.And the practical significance is the motivation for the discussion of the issue.The honesty value education for contemporary college students means that the educators assist and guide the contemporary college students to understand the basic knowledge of the concept of honesty value,recognize the important significance of honesty value to individuals and society,and cultivate contemporary college students the social practice activities of being honest,down-to-earth and anti-corrupt.The study refers to relevant theories,mainly including the human comprehensive development theory and the thoughts of anti-corruption and honesty-promotion of the Chinese Communist Party.The enhancement of the study honesty value of contemporary college students is practically significant for cultivating and practicing the core values of socialism,realizing the fundamental requirements of the universities to strengthen moral education and cultivate people,promoting the Chinese traditional virtues,and comprehensively boosting the construction of the Party conduct and an honest and clean government.The understanding and analysis of the status quo of honesty value of contemporary college students are mainly done by combining both theoretical and empirical methods and the result is that the honesty values of contemporary college students are generally positive,most of who recognize the honesty value and honest conducts,and have a positive and voluntary attitude towards receiving honesty value education.However,they are unclear of some specific knowledge boundaries,easily impatient in honesty emotions,and assess some behaviors without sufficient reason.In terms of honest practice,they appear to have high requirement for others but fail to restrict their own behaviors.The specific reasons mainly include the negative impacts from multi-culture and market economy during the social transition,the lack of education of honesty value in colleges and families,the inconsistency in individual understanding and practice,and the imperfection of the honesty education mechanism for college students.The implementation of studies on the honesty education of contemporary college students should have correct goals,establish a complete content system,and observe scientific principles.The main goals include making sure scientific honesty recognition,establishing correct honesty attitudes,diversifying honesty abilities,and fostering voluntary honest behaviors;the principles mainly include positive guidance principle,reason-emotion blending principle,respect for diversity principle,and sustainability principle;the basic content mainly include the education of communist ideals and beliefs as the core,civic moral education as the fundamental,legal education as the guarantee,and anti-corruption and honesty-promotion education as the acting point.The enhancement of the studies on the honesty education of contemporary college students should explore proper ways to cultivate honesty value of contemporary college student in the spirit of reform and innovation.This paper believes that the honesty education of contemporary college students should be guaranteed by the operating mechanism,based the optimization of the social environment,led by the choice of the route of universities,assisted by the construction of family atmosphere,directed to individual self-education,and the work of the honesty education of contemporary college students should be strengthened comprehensively.
