In recent years,with the improvement of China's international status,as well as the promotion of the international education strategy of Chinese,more and more foreigners are attracted to study or work in China.Unlike the previous adults,the children of many foreigners also come to China.They have a strong demand for Chinese language learning.Therefore,the current trend of Chinese language learning among foreigners in China is younger.Beijing,as the capital of China,has a large number of foreigners.In this context,the number of primary school students studying Chinese in Beijing is increasing year by year.The number of international primary schools specially for foreign primary school students is also increasing.The study of their teaching situation has attracted the attention of the academic community.Therefore,this paper takes international primary schools in Beijing as the object of investigation,investigates and analyses the local Chinese teaching situation,understands the characteristics of Chinese teaching in international primary schools and finds out some problems,and finally puts forward some suggestions for these problems.It is hoped that this study can provide reference for the front-line practitioners of Chinese teaching for children in domestic and international schools,and provide new perspectives and ideas for the research in the field of Chinese international education.This paper is divided into five parts.The introduction part is mainly composed of research background and purpose,research methods and ideas,theoretical basis and literature review,focusing on the classification and definition of international schools,historical evolution and research status of Chinese teaching for children in China.The first chapter gives an overview of the basic situation of some international primary schools in Beijing,including schools.Types and scales,school curricula,Chinese textbook allocation,teaching environment,teaching methods and test evaluation methods;Chapter II elaborates the survey design ideas and survey objects and processes,and summarizes the advantages and problems of international primary schools in Beijing at the present stage in view of the survey results;Chapter III combines foreign Chinese with the theoretical basis of the characteristics of children's second language acquisition and cognitive characteristics.The last part of the conclusion summarizes the conclusions,innovations and shortcomings of this paper.By means of questionnaires and interviews,this paper investigates and analyses the situation of Chinese language teaching in international primary schools in Beijing,and finds that its advantages include strong teachers,advanced campus construction,perfect curriculum system,flexible class arrangement,abundant Chinese-related teaching activities,scientific testing and evaluation methods for Chinese language,and some students lack motivation for learning.Chinese learning environment is insufficient,available Chinese teaching resources are insufficient,existing teaching methods have little effect,classroom teaching and management are difficult,and family support is limited.The innovation of this paper is to sort out the school system,curriculum,textbooks,Chinese classroom teaching and other aspects of international primary schools,and to some extent enrich the research results of Chinese teaching for children.The inadequacy is due to the limited number of schools surveyed in this paper,which fails to reflect the overall situation of Chinese teaching in primary schools at home and abroad.I hope that we can continue to conduct in-depth research on this issue in the future.
