As the curriculum reform constantly goes and the National Standards of Mathematics has been enacted,teachers are required to become more professional and knowledgeable.Researched have found that most mathematics teachers graduated from secondary normal school and didn’t get professional mathematics training.Although they have achieved a college or bachelor’s degree after further education,their majors are not related to mathematics.Based on this phenomenon,this study analyzes the influence of the knowledge reserve of primary mathematics teachers on their class design.And two themes will be discussed: a.what kind of influence does lack of knowledge reserve have on classes design? b.how to get elementary mathematics teachers more fundamentally knowledgeable?By means of literature review,interviewing,class observation and other ways of note taking,this paper has collected a lot of information and data.After an all-round analysis,it generally concluded that teachers with different knowledge reserve will create different class design.The specific conclusion is showed as below.Furthermore,although teachers with secondary normal education can perform as well as those with undergraduate education on teaching skills,they are different in mastering fundamental mathematics knowledge.Due to a solid knowledge base,teachers with undergraduate education can teach math more logically and systematically.They know how to deal with key point and difficult points.They know how to let students think mathematically and learn step by step.They know what kind of role this chapter plays in the curriculum.However,without a good fundamental knowledge base,it is hard for teachers with secondary normal education to have a clear structure and understand core points well.And sometimes they may lose connection with other points easily.Based on these conclusions,this thesis suggests that we should improve fundamental knowledge reserve of primary mathematics teachers.Firstly,teachers need to put emphasis on strengthening their professional knowledge.Secondly,vocational education is necessary before employment.Thirdly,teachers should receive certain training during their careers.
