| The combination of neuroscience and education provides strong support for educational practice.Dopamine is a neurotransmitter in the brain.In recent years,neuroscientific research has found that the brain releases dopamine during the process of playing games,which is closely related to uncertainty reward.The uncertainty reward leads to the release of dopamine to its peak,which triggers a range of positive emotional responses in the body,increasing the stability of attention and learning motivation.It is of considerable significance to educational work.Dopamine-based uncertainty reward should be effectively used in gamified mobile learning.This thesis explores the following three questions in gamified mobile learning app "Yiqi Joy" : 1)Is there reward in “Yiqi Joy”? Is there an uncertainty reward? 2)Do students prefer uncertainty reward when using “Yiqi Joy”? 3)What are the effects of different rewards on students’ learning?The study was conducted over six months from June 2018 to December 2018.The study examined 30 third-grade pupils from a primary school in Qingdao,along with 10 parents and a teacher.This thesis mainly uses the methods of interview and observation.The interviews were given separately to the students,teacher and the parents,and two-day observation was carried out on 10 students along with PANANS-C test.The results of the study were as follows:1)There are abundant rewards in “Yiqi Joy”,and the “Perfect Words” module contains uncertainty reward in the learning process and the form of reward.2)Among 30 students,23 students stated that they preferred uncertainty reward to certainty reward,and students prefer the uncertainty reward could be given throughout the learning process.3)Compared with the certainty reward,the uncertainty reward can bring students with more positive emotional experience,and better increase attention stability and learning initiative.Based on dopamine,this study shows that the application of uncertainty reward in "Yiqi Joy" has a positive effect on students’ learning.At the same time,according to the results of this thesis,the author puts forward suggestions on the application of uncertainty reward in gamified mobile learning. |
