An Empirical Study On The Current Situation Of College Students' Political Values In The New Era

Political values,as one of the important contents of values,have a normative and guiding role in people's political thoughts and behaviors.College students are very valuable human resources.The political values of them not only concern the individual development of themselves,but also the smooth realization of Chinese dream of the great revival of the Chinese nation.President Xi put forward in the report of the Nineteenth Congress of the Communist Party of China that we should focus on the cultivation of people who can take charge of national rejuvenation.At the same time,he pointed out that as long as the younger generation are aspiring,capable and accountable,the country will be promising and the nation hopeful.This shows that the party and the country have attached great attention on young people.However,let's have a look at reality.A few college students have to some extent the value orientation of realism,utilitarianism,individualism,and even the wrong political tendency of political indifference.As the leader of reform and opening up,Guangzhou is characterized by the coexistence of multiple cultures and the rapid development of the socialist market economy.It can not be denied that these macro-environments have a positive impact on the formation of political values of college students to some degree.However,they,at the same time,also bring some negative effects — — college students will tend to have utilitarian value orientation,ambiguous political cognition,and confusing value choice.What is the current situation of political values of college students in the new era? Can they assume the responsibility of reviving the nation? It is worth to think about these questions.This paper takes the university students in Guangzhou as an example to study the present situation of political values of college students in the new era and the relative guiding strategies,which is conducive to the colleges to cultivate the students and to the smooth realization of the Chinese dream of great revival of the Chinese nation.This paper is based on the background of the realizing of Chinese dream in new era,andtakes Marxist humanistic thought,ideological and political pedagogy,and the theory of localization of Marxism in China as basic theory.By making comprehensive use of literature research method,questionnaire investigation method and interview method and drawing on academic research results,it introduces to the readers the concept and content of political values of college students.What's more,it also conducts research on the present situation of political values of college students in 20 colleges and universities in Guangzhou,which is carried out in five dimensions: views of nation,political party,democracy,legal system and just.Firstly,according to the research,this paper analyzes the current situation of political values of college students from five aspects and concludes the characteristics of the political values of them.Secondly,the problems and influencing factors of political values of a few college students are analyzed.Finally,it discusses the strategies to guide college students to set up correct political values,including creating a sound social environment and promoting the core values,strengthening the ideological and political education in colleges and universities to cultivate the next generation,Creating a harmonious family atmosphere and guiding the correct value orientation,putting more focus on self-education and self-examination.By the cooperation of the four aspects of countermeasures,this paper aims at guiding the college students to establish scientific and correct political values,so as to assume the responsibility of national renewal,to combine their ideals with the dreams of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,and to strive to follow the Long March in the new era.
