Grammar teaching is one of the important part of Chinese teaching contents.But,grammar teaching has become less and less important since the reformation of education.Under the influence of new academic programme,the status of grammar teaching has dramatic changes.Some of the teachers think that there are needless to teach grammar and the students also think that grammar knowledge may not be as required content,and they can learn or not.This wrong concept is deeply grow in the mind of teachers and students nowadays.Under the new academic programme,grammar teaching has become dispensable.This kind of reformation has lead to many problems in learning grammar knowledge such as worst language and literature ability.Most of the students can't understand an article properly,wrong words,incorrect punctuation,abuse rhetoric in their essay and others.The ability of language and literature has become worse and worse is just right to reflect that the effect of not giving enough recognition in grammar teaching.Although there are many effects that come with the reformation of education,but we also need to know that there have their reasons to be change.So,how to get a balance between the old and new academic programme so that the students will not feel burden and learn the grammar knowledge with fun is a question that need to solve immediately.I am a Chinese teacher working in Malaysian National Chinese Primary School.This article has conducted an empirical survey of teachers and students to empirically understand the attitudes of current Chinese teachers and students towards grammar teaching.Based on the results of the empirical survey,we believe that the current attitude of completely "fading" or "ignoring" grammar teaching will have a negative impact on the effectiveness of Chinese learning.In this paper,in order to understand the current situation of grammar teaching in primary school,the author had investigate teachers and students from Malaysia who are in school and made an analysis from the investigation and recommend a method that suitable to students in learning grammar knowledge.The full text mainly includes the following four aspects:This part first illustrated the situation of grammar teaching in Malaysia and the behaviour of students after the reformation of education.The second part is about the position and condition of grammar teaching in Malaysia.This part clarified the history of grammar teaching in primary school,the effect that bring by the changes of standard of education,teaching materials and the exam system.The third part is about the present situation of grammar teaching in Malaysia's Chinese primary school.This part is mainly to understand the condition of grammar teaching in Malaysia,the behaviour of teachers on current grammar teaching and the ability of students on mastering and using grammar through questionnaire investigation.From there,the author will analyze.The fourth part is about the new recognition of grammar teaching in Malaysia.According to the result of third part which is about the investigation of teachers and students,the author will recommend a teaching strategy which is suitable for teachers and students to teach and learn grammar knowledge.
