As an important tool for people to communicate and communicate in today s society,social networking sites will attract people to log in and use them frequently and make users stick to them.The situation of China’s minor Internet users is beyond imagination,among which the proportion of high school students surfing the Internet reaches 96.3%,and more of them use social software passively.Passive use of social network site will occupy more time of individuals and have adverse effects on their mental health,such as increasing loneliness,causing depression and anxiety.Therefore,this study further explore the influence of passive use of social network site for depression,and based on the rumination of intermediary role,build a regulation of the mediation model to study rumination in passive use of social network site for depression and the effect of mediation effects are influenced by the traits mindfulness,discusses using influence on depression,passive use of social network site in order to reduce the new network society provide theoretical guidance and empirical basis for adolescent depression level.In this study,1000 participants from three high schools in guangxi were r andomly selected with questionnaires,and 967 valid questionnaires were collect ed.,Surveillance Use Scale,Rumination Response Scale,Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale,Five Facet Mindfulness Questionire were used for the actual measurement.Data samples were analyzed using SPSS and PROCESS.Th is study draws the following conclusions:(1)the use of passive social networking sites significantly positively predicted the depression status of high school students.(2)redundancy plays a mediating role in the use of passive social networking sites and the influence of high school students’ depression.(3)trait mindfulness moderates the second half of the mediating effect of redundancy in the relationship between passive social network use and depression.In summary,the results show that the use of passive social networking sites in high school students affects the]evel of depression through the mediating effect of redundancy,and thus can have a positive predictive effect on depression,which indicates that the use of passive social networking sites will lead to the decrease of the mental health level of high school students and the increase of depression,High trait mindfulness can regulate the mediating effect.Therefore,the intervention of mindfulness can improve the degree of trait mindfulness of high school students and reduce the influence of passive social network use on the depression level of high school students,Based on the prevalence of passive social networking sites among adolescents,the results of this study may provide some enlightenment to mental health educators in schools.
