As an important part of the school’s human resource management,teacher performance appraisal is a key measure to ensure the smooth implementation of the school’s performance pay system.It is of great significance to the professional development of teachers and the improvement of the quality of education in schools.As a transitional stage of compulsory education and higher education,the high school plays an important role in China’s educational structure.However,at present,the policies and theories for the performance appraisal of high school teachers are relatively lacking,which leads to many problems in the performance appraisal of high school teachers.This paper takes S High School in Yueyang as a case to study the status quo and problems of the school’s performance appraisal,and proposes improvement countermeasures for the problem,which is of great significance to improve the overall quality of teachers in S High school,the construction of teachers and the improvement of teaching quality.This paper mainly uses case study method and investigation research method to formulate a questionnaire based on the general situation of S High School and the current teacher performance evaluation program.The survey results show that there is merit in the performance appraisal of S High School.However,in the design of the plan,the implementation process of the appraisal and the treatment of the appraisal results,there is still a single main body of the plan,the design of the appraisal index is not comprehensive enough,and the appraisal process is not transparent enough.Performance results feedback fuzzy lag and so on.Based on the relevant theories of performance evaluation,this paper analyzes the reasons for the problems in the performance appraisal of S High school.The reason for the breeding problem is that the school’s performance appraisal concept is backward,one-sided understanding of performance appraisal,and there is no effective supervision.And grievance mechanisms,etc.Then based on the analysis of the problems and causes,combined with the performance evaluation of S High school,the improvement countermeasures of the performance evaluation of the teachers in S High school were put forward.Including the establishment of advanced performance appraisal concepts,the establishment of a scientific teacher performance appraisal indicator system,the improvement of the implementation of teacher performance appraisal measures and the reasonable handling of teacher performance appraisal results.I hope to provide reference for the effective development of the performance appraisal work for teachers in S High school and other high schools.
