This paper is a special study on History of Foreign Countries of Senior High School of Li Jigu during the Republican period.It has five parts.The introduction mainly expounds the reason for the topic selection,the research status,the research methods and the innovations.History textbook of senior high school is directly related to the realization of the goal of high school education.There are some problems with the history textbooks using in high school,which affects the effect of history education.The History of Foreign Countries of Senior High School of Li Jigu was a high quality and influential textbook during the Republican period.However,the academic circle hasn't realized the value of this book fully and its research is extremely lacking.By studying the History of Foreign Countries of Senior High School of Li Jigu,this paper summarizes the characteristics and advantages of this book to provide references and Suggestions for the compilation of history textbook of senior high school.Chapter I mainly researches the compilation background and creation of the History of Foreign Countries of Senior High School.The personnel learning of Li Jigu,the era environment with national crisis and the educational reform carried out by the government had a direct impact on the compilation of this textbook.From 1931 to 1933,the History of Foreign Countries of Senior High School was compiled,revised and published,which became the most influential foreign history textbooks in high school during this period.Chapter II mainly researches the ideas for writing,the features in structure and in content of the History of Foreign Countries of Senior High School of Li Jigu.In terms of compilation ideas,this textbook aims to provide basic knowledge of foreign history and enable readers to understand the modern international situation and Chinese status in the world.This textbook selects political,economic and cultural aspects of the whole world from the origin of the earth to 1931.In terms of structure,this textbook set the introduction,overview,subtitle to make it well organized.In terms of content,This textbook emphasizes the causal relationship between history,attaches great importance to the connection between history and geography,displays vivid language and strong realistic concern.Chapter III mainly researches the enlightenment of the History of Foreign Countries of Senior High School on the compilation of current history textbooks of senior high school.The current history textbooks of senior high school lack of complete historical knowledge structure,readability and close links with reality.Therefore,we should learn from the compilation method of the History of Foreign Countries of Senior High School.We should improve the structure of history textbooks,enhance the readability and strengthen the connection between history and reality.The epilogue emphasizes the important position of high school history textbooks in history teaching based on the needs of current high school curriculum reform.We should take history as a mirror,absorb the successful experience of foreign history textbooks during the Republican period and improve the quality of the high school history textbooks constantly.Only to do the above,can we truly stimulate students' interest,cultivate core qualities and accomplish the fundamental task of cultivating virtuous people.
