The Research Of National Security Education For College Students In A New Era

With the deepening of reform and opening up,China is facing a complex and intertwined national security situation.The connotation of national security is constantly expanding and extending,from traditional security to non-traditional security.It is a long way to maintain national security.The Nineteenth National Congress of CPC put forward “Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a new era”.The “Holistic View of National Security” is listed as one of the fourteen basic strategies.The Ministry of Education issued the "Opinions on Strengthening the Implementation of National Security Education in Primary and Secondary Schools" on April 9,2018,which incorporated national security education into the national education system and attached great strategic importance to the national security education for college students.College students are the hope of the nation and the pillar of the country.To complete the role transformation from students to social citizens,their comprehensive quality is related to the success or failure of socialist modernization.In the new era,college students' national security education,guided by the“Holistic View of National Security”,can effectively construct a comprehensive and systematic theoretical system of national security,cultivate college students' national security awareness,and cultivate their ability to maintain national security,which is conducive to the unification of the country's long-term stability,social stability and harmony and the all-round development of college students.College students' national security education has achieved some results.Colleges and universities pay attention to traditional security education.The cultivation of national security awareness has achieved some results.College students' awareness of maintaining national security is relatively strong.However,according to the survey,colleges and universities lack education on non-traditional security,students' basic knowledge of national security is not good enough,and they lack understanding of the “Holistic View of National Security”.In some areas,national security awareness still needs to be strengthened.Colleges and universities lack the training of students' ability to maintain national security and can not meet the realistic needs of maintaining national security.Therefore,the work of national security education for college students needs to be strengthened urgently.We define the contents and objectives of national security education for college students in the new era.The contents are guided by the“Holistic View of National Security”.The objectives of national security education are analyzed from the aspects of building national security knowledge system,cultivating national security awareness and cultivating the ability to maintain national security.The reasons for the problems in the national security education are as follows: first,the insufficient attention paid by universities to the national security education of college students;second,the lack of overall coordination of the national security education of college students;third,the narrow channels of the national security education of college students;and fourth,the single form of the national security education of college students.In view of the above problems,we put forward countermeasures from four aspects to strengthen the national security education for college students.First,we should strengthen the overall coordination of the national security education of college students in the new era,and set up a leading body,coordination mechanism and education evaluation mechanism for the overall national security education of college students in the new era.That is to say,the leaders of colleges and universities should attach great importance to the national security education.The second is to construct the curriculum system of national security education in the new era,and to build a professional team of teachers of national security education.Third,innovative education forms should enhance the effectiveness of national security education for college students,strengthen practical interaction and enhance the attractiveness of teaching,and use new media technology to carry out national security education.Fourthly,we should broaden the channels of national security education for college students in the new era,adhere to the main position of Ideological Security in Ideological and political theory courses,give full play to the implicit educational function of the community platform,and supplement and publicize non-traditional security by lectures,lectures and academic forums.
