STEM(Science,Technology,Engineering and Mathematics)education is being recognized as the basis to cultivate students’ quality at STEM aspects and respond to the challenges of science and economic development in the new era.In 2017,White Paper on STEM Education in China was issued to promote STEM education in our country.STEM education that’s interdisciplinary and probing can cultivate students’STEM quality and capacity to solve complex social problems with the integrated use of STEM knowledge.STEM education has been the new trends in the development of international education,the United States has been developing STEM education for a long time,and recognizes that cultivating a large number of high-quality teachers is the key to the steady development of education.STEM teacher education in the United States has achieved remarkable results.One of its successful experiences is to create high-quality STEM teacher education practicum.STEM teacher education practicum in the United States is the most important part of its STEM teacher education.The United States has accumulated rich experience in this regard.Studying STEM teacher education practicum in the United States is conducive to training high-quality STEM teachers and developing STEM education in China.The research adopts the methods of literature study,case study and comparative study.This research sorts out the relevant research on STEM teacher education practicum at home and abroad,is based on the authoritative experience of STEM teacher education project practice curriculum,to study the theoretical basis and curriculum system of STEM teacher education practicum in the United States,to explore the value and characteristics of STEM teacher education practicum in the United States,and to provide reference for the development of STEM teacher education in China.According to the research purpose and design,the research structure is as follows.1.The theoretical appeal of the American STEM teacher education practicum is constructed through the research on the growth background,supporting theory,value and significance of American STEM teacher education practicum;2.The American STEM teacher education practicum system is conducted through the research on the objective,content,implementation and evaluation of the American STEM pre-service teacher practicum;3.The characteristics of the practicum are analyzed;4.The enlightenment to STEM teacher education practicum design is provides on the end part.
