The popularization of higher education has led to a sharp expansion in college enrollment across the country.In recent years,the Chinese government has continued to promote the reform of higher education,and has continuously emphasized the improvement of undergraduate teaching quality.Compared with key college students,local college students often have more problems in their academic performance due to the gaps in learning environment,the quality of teachers and student motivation.It is more practical to study the academic performance and improvement methods of local college students.At the same time,it also has certain reference value for improving the quality of education and the level of running schools in local universities.The academic performance of undergraduates affects the quality of undergraduate teaching.There will be a gap in academic performance.The academic performance of college students is mainly reflected in four aspects: learning attitude,learning behavior,learning outcome and learning experience.In order to investigate the academic performance of local college students,this study selected 485 college students from Hebei University of Economics and Business,Hebei University of Science and Technology,Hebei Normal University,Shijiazhuang Railway University and Hebei Agricultural University to conduct a questionnaire survey and found that academic performance of local college students as follows.Firstly,from the perspective of learning attitudes,college students' attitudes toward learning are generally poor,their interest in learning is relatively low,they do not know the meaning of learning,they are not happy with learning,their learning efficiency is low,and their motivation is insufficient.Secondly,from the perspective of learning behavior,students' classroom and under-class learning behaviors are relatively poor,and they are extremely enthusiastic about research and further study.The class is mainly poor performance of students' class notes,oral presentations,quality of lectures and participation in class.Under the class,the level of investment in the content of the course,after-school consultation,after-school discussion and participation activities is low.There are significant differences in the availability of scholarships.Thirdly,from the perspective of academic performance,the academic performance of college students is generally at the middle and lower levels.College students' English scores are low,and the number of high-level students is very small.There are significant differences in the availability of scholarships.Fourthly,from the perspective of practical ability,the practical ability of college students has been greatly improved,and there are significant differences between college students who have received and have not received scholarships.In addition,from the interview results,the students' moral quality is relatively low,there are exam cheating and homework plagiarism.There are classroom disciplines,classroom atmosphere,and poor student participation.Under the class,there are academic problems in which the professional courses have less study time,low learning efficiency,and lower quality of work.Combined with empirical and interview analysis,this paper finds that the students' academic performance is mainly caused by students,teachers and schools.First of all,the students' attitude towards learning is not correct;the learning pressure is not great,the motivation is insufficient;the interest in learning is not high,and the investment in learning is low.Secondly,the teacher's sense of responsibility for teaching needs to be improved;the teaching content needs to be enriched,the teaching language needs to be improved;the teaching concept is old and the teaching method is single.Finally,the academic guidance system of college students is not perfect,the evaluation system of college students' academic performance is imperfect,the evaluation mechanism of teacher team management is not perfect,and the support environment of colleges and universities is not perfect.According to the analysis of the reasons for the poor performance of local college students,the following promotion strategies are proposed: First,increase the investment in teacher training and promote the improvement of teaching mode.Second,improve the student's academic incentive and evaluation system,and diversify the incentive and evaluation channels.Third,reform the teacher's teaching incentive and assessment system to achieve equivalent evaluation of teaching and research.Fourth,carry out extracurricular learning activities to meet the diverse development needs of students.Fifth,improve the environmental facilities of colleges and universities and provide a good academic environment.
