Undergraduates' professional identity is a cognitive understanding,emotional acceptance and recognition of college students,and is accompanied by a dynamic process of positive internal behavioral tendencies and external behavioral effects.The degree of professional identity of college students directly affects the individual's psychological state in the process of professional learning and development,and even affects the career development in the future.Therefore,the study of the relationship between college students' professional identification and academic achievement can help improve the students' academic achievements.On the other hand,it can help improve the quality of higher education in China.Through literature analysis,interviews,and questionnaire surveys,this study established the dimensional structure of professional identity of college students through questioning,previous literature analysis,interviews,and questionnaire surveys.A survey questionnaire on college students' professional identity was compiled and the professional identity of college students was explored.The characteristics and analysis of the relationship between professional identity and academic performance differences lead to the following conclusions:(1)The professional identification of college students consists of four dimensions: professional cognition,professional emotion,professional behavior,and professional matching.The college students' professional identity questionnaire has a good reliability and validity and can be used as a measurementtool for college students' professional identity.(2)The scores of college students' professional identity and the scores of various dimensions are generally slightly higher than the median scores,and the professional identification of college students is at a medium level,which indicates that college students are more agree with their own profession.(3)There are significant gender differences in professional identity of college students.In addition to “professional emotions,” the average male student is higher than female in the overall professional identity and other dimensions,and there are differences in degrees.However,there is no significant difference in the professional identity between boys and girls.(4)College students' professional identity and its various dimensions are different at the grade level.On the total score of professional identity,the average of the first-year students of professional learning behavior is higher than that of the second-and third-grade students,and there is a very significant difference;the second,third,and fourth-grade students gradually increase in the mean of professional identity;The average of the fourth grade students is significantly higher than the second and third grades in matching knowledge and majors.(5)The professional identification of college students and its four dimensions are different in the professional category.In the overall professional identity and professional emotions,professional arts,professional learning behavior and professional matching,arts and sports students average higher than the humanities and social sciences and science and engineering students,and there are extremely significant differences.(6)The four dimensions of college students' professional identity and professional cognition,professional emotion,professional learning behavior,and professional matching have interactions between the source of students and professional wishes.There are significant differences in professional cognitive dimensions among college students in the urban areas.There are significant differences in the dimensions of professional learning behavior among students in rural areas.Among the college students who chose professionally,college students in the city had higher scores in terms of professional identity,professional emotion,professional matching,and professional cognition than those college students who were enrolled in rural areas.(7)The main factors affecting college students' professional identification are personal professional interest and personality traits,professional and objective environment,important other people's influence,and social factors.(8)There is a significant positive correlation between professional identification and academicachievement of college students.Professional identity has a predictive effect on academic performance.Professional sentiment,professional learning behavior,and professional cognitive three dimensions can effectively predict academic performance.Among them,professional emotion has the strongest predictive effect on academic performance.
