Chinese is a basic subject in senior high schools.With the release of the new curriculum standard of 2017 and the promotion of a new round of curriculum reform,thematic reading and holistic reading teaching strategies emerge in response to the persistent problems in Chinese reading teaching.Chengde takes the lead in deeply examining the teaching of Chinese reading from a higher level,combining the advantages of thematic reading with holistic reading teaching strategy,and puts forward the idea of developing Chinese "thematic holistic reading".In this setting,this paper takes Xinglong No.1 Senior High School as an example in the process of research,narrowly shows the process about the Chinese curriculum reform and how to apply the "thematic holistic reading" into our school so that effective Chinese reading teaching strategies can be found.Firstly,it expounds the integrated design of the thematic holistic reading from its necessity,thoughts,principles,purpose and methods,showing the process of how to integrate textbooks and the results of the integration.Then it offers the teaching design of thematic holistic reading teaching with respect to optimizing the ideas of teaching design,teaching model,the design of classroom teaching links,the activities of teaching practice and the teaching evaluation.Thirdly,taking the character thematic reading teaching,"follow your heart and seek more freedom in the world--zhuangzi",as an example,this lesson narrowly expounds the process of teaching materials' arrangement,teaching implementation and teaching evaluation,such as the new teaching model of reading teaching which is called “3315” in our school.At last,combing teaching experience of three years,the author reflects on the achievements of thematic holistic reading teaching in senior high school and gives some suggestions on future textbook integration.The construction of thematic holistic reading system of senior high school is expected to break the confusion about Chinese reading teaching in senior high schools and becomes one of the efficient explores.
