Education is an inexhaustible driving force for a country to achieve long-term development.As one of the developed countries in the world,the United States has a long history of teacher training,and has experienced constant reform and innovation to gradually explore a set of mature training mode.From the 1920 s to the present,primary school teacher training institutions in the United States have gone through a process from teachers' schools to teachers' colleges and then to teachers' education colleges of comprehensive universities.In the 1820 s,the United States began to establish normal schools to improve the shortage of teachers in compulsory education.In the 1890 s,in order to meet the needs of social development,normal schools began to reform the structure of primary school teacher training courses and upgraded them into normal colleges.In the middle of the 20 th century,the United States believed that primary school teachers should have systematic and profound subject knowledge and professional knowledge.Under this background,teachers' colleges began to develop into teachers' education colleges of comprehensive universities,which also made the training of primary school teachers begin to develop towards the direction of general subjects.Although the United States does not explicitly put forward the concept of "primary school general teacher",the quality of its primary school teachers is similar to that of the primary school teachers advocated in China at present.Michigan state university is a world famous public research university,and its school of education is one of the most famous schools of education in the United States and even the world,among which the primary school teacher training program of the school of education ranks the first in the United States for 21 consecutive years,with remarkable results.In order to more detailed understanding of the general American elementary school teachers' training mode,the author will select primary school teacher training program at Michigan state university as a case,with its admission criteria,training objectives,curriculum and education practice and so on four parts as the main object of study,to explore the advantage of general American elementary school teachers' training mode.At present,primary school teachers are widely concerned by primary schools,normal colleges and educational administrative departments.Since the ministry of education issued the opinions on the implementation of excellent teacher training plan in 2014,relevant training programs for primary school general teachers have been introduced successively in chongqing,guangxi,guizhou and other places in China.Therefore,the author believes that in order to train high-quality primary school teachers,we should establish strict admission standards and ensure the quality of students according to the current situation of China and the successful experience of other countries.Develop diversified training courses and improve teachers' knowledge system;Improve the system of educational practice to ensure the quality of educational practice;Establish a lifelong learning concept,adhere to the student-oriented.In the future we will be able to explore a set of primary school general teacher training mode with Chinese characteristics.
