| Influenced by the Beijing Winter Olympic Games in 2022,the mass winter sports in China ushered a development of blowout.With the bloom of ice and snow tourism industry,the ski town in Chongli District,Hebei Province,China is faced with a new opportunity of development.However,there is no ready-made experience and model for the construction of ski towns in China.But,the model of sports towns has been very mature in other foreign countries.Whistler ski town was officially set as resort Municipality on September 6,1975.It was one of the venues of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games and a famous ski town in the world.It is hoped that through the study of the development route of Whistler Town,it will provide enlightenment for the planning,construction,promotion and operation of small towns with sports and leisure characteristics in China.This paper chose Whistler Town in Canada as the object of investigation,and took its development route as the object of study.Through literature review,expert interviews and Delphi Method,this paper combed the basic status and development process of Whistler Town,and clarified the realization factors and path of its development.In the 20 th century,the change of life style in North America and the innovation of social trend of thought promoted the rise of entertainment and recreation,and provided social conditions for the development of Whistler,which had rich natural resources.Since the development of alpine skiing in small towns,the bid for the Winter Olympic Games had been taken as an important goal.In the past 60 years,the infrastructure had been continuously improved,the governing style had been innovated,and the layout of small towns had been rationally planned to promote the development of small towns.In order to better develop the mountainous areas,local professional companies were introduced to operate the Whistler Mountain and Black Comb Mountain Snowfield,which competed to renew the facilities such as snow tracks and cable cars,and then the Whistler-Black Comb Mountain was jointly operated,making Whistler the largest ski town in North America at that time,and successfully hosted the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games with the efforts of the government.After the Winter Olympic Games,Whistler Town relied on the whole season tourism to feed back the development of the town,create a healthy and humane sports and leisure environment,seek sustainable development,and revive the status of Whistler Town as the world's top ski resort.Whistler seized the opportunity of development,solidly improve infrastructure,relying on excellent ruling team and ski resort management team,with the help of the harmonious development environment built by government and enterprises,following the high standard goal of bidding for the Winter Olympic Games,has become a world-class ski resort from an unknown small valley and enjoys global reputation.Through the study of the development route of Whistler ski resort,this paper puts forward some suggestions for the development of ski town in Chongli District of China.The ski towns in Chongli District should take the Winter Olympic Games as an opportunity to improve its business,facilities and services,concentrate on building itself into a world-class ski resort,improve regional infrastructure,urban construction and service functions,and introduce excellent management.Supporting with Management team,abundant funds,the government and enterprises to form a good interaction model,Chongli region will become the world's emerging ski resort. |
