With the continuous progress of society,creativity is considered as a necessary skill for talents in the 21st century,and plays an important role in social science,humanities and arts.Therefore,it has great significance to explore the influencing factors and mechanism of creativity.As a family environment,parenting behavior has a close relationship with the development of creativity.Different parenting behavior has a significant impact on individual creativity.As a personality variable reflecting individual motivation differences,cognitive needs play an important role in predicting creativity.Therefore,the development of creativity requires the interaction of environment?parenting behavior?and individual?cognitive needs?.In addition,the parenting behavior of different grades and sexes may be differences,resulting in different levels of cognitive needs of students of different grades?junior high school,senior high school?and gender.The data of this study are from the subject of"Longitudinal Study of Individual,Environmental Factors and Their Functional Mechanisms Affecting the Development of Creativity of Primary and Secondary School Students".1724 middle school students from grade one to grade three in junior middle school were selected as subjects(Mage=15.65;SDage=1.87,874 junior high school students and 850 senior high school students,884 boys and 840 girls).In order to the predictive effect of parenting behavior on creativity of middle school students,the mediating role of cognitive needs in the relationship between them,and the mediating role of school segments?junior high school/senior high school?and gender in this mediating model.In this study,self-report was used to measure the parenting behavior and cognitive needs of middle school students,and the highest behavior test was used to measure the creativity of middle school students and its dimensions.Parenting behavior was measured by three subscales:Parental autonomous support,behavior control and psychological control.Creativity was measured by three dimensions:fluency,flexibility and originality.This study found that:?1?Parents autonomous support positive predictive creativity and fluency,flexibility and originality,behavior control positive predictive creativity and flexibility,and psychological control negative predictive creativity and fluency,flexibility and originality.?2?Cognitive needs play a mediating role in the relationship between parening behavior?autonomous support,behavioral control,psychological control?and creativity of middle school students.?3?Segment?junior high school/senior high school?plays a moderating role in the relationship between parental rearing behavior?autonomous support,behavior control,psychological control?,cognitive needs and creativity,fluency,flexibility and originality of middle school students.Specifically,it regulates the relationship between parenting behavior?autonomous support,behavioral control,psychological control?and cognitive needs.That is to say,compared with high school students,parenting behavior of junior high school students plays a stronger role in predicting cognitive needs.?4?Gender does not play a moderating role in the relationship between parental rearing behavior?autonomous support,behavioral control,psychological control?,cognitive needs and creativity,fluency,flexibility and originality of middle school students...
