The new round of basic education curriculum reform puts forward "people-oriented" and "students’ development-oriented",and basic education should adapt to the comprehensive and lifelong development of the students. The Ministry of Education has developed the 2017 edition of the "Primary Science Curriculum Standards" to position the primary school curriculum as a basic course,a practical course, and a comprehensive course, and add a course in the 1-2th grade.Science and technology have promoted the development of productivity, the prosperity of economic and the progress of the society, and promoted the transformation of production methods, lifestyles and ways of thinking for human beings. The study of the primary science curriculum plays a important role in improving the scientific literacy of citizens, improving the quality of life, enhancing their ability of participating in social and economic development, and building an innovative country.Based on the literature research on the status quo of STEAM education domestic and overseas, this paper takes the “parachute” lesson in the primary school science of Jiangsu Education as an example to develop project-based learning under the STEAM concept. In order to better design the project course under the STEAM concept,we conduct classroom observations not only in a primary school and a community in Fuzhou, but also on the project activity classes that I coached for a period of time before the start of the project to summarize the level of competence and the deficiencies existed of the students.Based on this, the content of the "parachute" lesson was reconstructed, and the STEAM course that meets the cognitive characteristics and ability level of the students was designed and implemented. Finally, the project-based learning results of STEAM over the years are summarized and analyzed by questionnaire analysis and after-school interview methods.According to the results of the statistics,it can be concluded that students have a more positive attitude towards the application of project-based learning to science courses.Project-based learning plays a positive role in mastering scientific knowledgeenhancing scientific inquiry ability, improving scientific attitude, and broadening understanding of science, technology, society and environment.
