With the advancement of new curriculum standards,popular songs have been formally compiled into textbooks.In the process of practice,the author finds that the application of popular songs in music classes in junior middle schools is at the exploratory stage,and there are still many problems.Starting from the junior high school music textbooks,this paper aims to explore the value of popular songs in the textbooks in teaching,play the core role of music textbooks in the junior high school popular songs teaching,and guide teachers to use the rich and varied classical works in the textbooks to promote the development of popular songs teaching.This paper uses literature analysis,questionnaire survey,observation and other research methods to carry out research.This paper is divided into three parts:The first part explains the background of the implementation of pop songs in junior middle school music classroom.The application of pop songs in music classes in junior high schools not only meets the inherent requirements of the new curriculum standards and the psychological development needs of junior high school students,but also conforms to the development environment of music education at home and abroad.The second part is to sort out and classify the music textbooks of PEP,summarize the popular songs in PEP music textbooks,classify them according to the theme and style,and summarize the advantages of PEP music textbooks as a whole.Through questionnaires,observation and other research methods,this paper investigates the current situation of music classroom teaching in junior high school,and finds that there are two problems in teaching:teachers and students.In the last part,taking pop songs in textbooks as the research object,aiming at the problems existing in the teaching of pop songs in junior middle school music classroom,the author puts forward six solutions and suggestions:selecting pop songs,flexibly arranging teaching materials,tapping the appeal of pop songs teaching,enhancing the interaction of pop songs teaching,establishing correct teaching evaluation concept.The purpose of this study is to respond to the call of the new curriculum standards,take textbooks as the foundation,give full play to the value of popular songs in aesthetic education and moral education,provide new road for popular songs teaching for music teachers,and save meager strength for the development of popular music education in junior high schools in China.
