| The American STEM education,It was first seen in a major plan unveiled by President Bush in his state of the Union address — 《 American Competitiveness Initiative》,or ACI.It stands for the acronym for the following subjects —Science 、Technology、Mathematics and Engineering,The emphasis is on strengthening students’ quality in the four aspects:First,The scientific literacy;Second,The technology literacy;Third,The engineering literacy;Fourth,The mathematical literacy.And at present,our country is in a critical period of curriculum reform,discussing the American curriculum will help broaden the vision of reform,understand the trend of development.To clarify the whole picture of American educaion,the paper synthesizes the literature review method 、 case anslysis and conparative study.Through literature research,collect and sort out the relevant literature of American STEM education,the development background and present situation of American curriculum are expounded,understand the rise and development status of American project-based curriculum in China,and then realize the deficiency of curriculum development in our country;According to case analysis,analysis of the success of the curriculum in primary and secondary schools in the United States,and analyzed from the four aspects of the course objectives、course content、course implementation and course evaluation.Using the comparative analysis,analyze and compare the commonalities of the cases,summarize the close cohesion of American curriculum:(1)Interdisciplinary,pay attention to the cultivation of students’ scientific interest;(2)The courses are closely linked in every stage;(3)The teacher is the guide of the students’;(4)Have clear course objectives;(5)The diversidication of course evaluation methods;As far as the development of STEM curriculum in our country,the study considers that American STEM curriculums provide the following lessons for our country:(1)Establish the uniform curriculum standards for STEM;(2)Strengthen the construction of teaching staff and professional development;(3)Fully realize the transformation of curriculum from “inquiry” to “practice”;(4)Strengthen the relevanceand integration between different curriculums;(5)The diversification of course evaluation methods;(6)Build the curriculum resource sharing platform,realize the equity in education. |
