With the increase of study burnden in primary and secondary schools,the duration of students' physical activities has been prominently cut down.The situation in primary and secondary schools in rural areas is even worsened by old sporting facilities and some factors in time and organization.Compared with students in urban shools their physical activities during long breaks are limited in time and less effective.Hence the negative feelings and resistance against sporting events are nurtured.Physical activity is an important method of implementing sunshine sports activities.It is designed to carry out physical training and enhance students' physical fitness,to adjust the learning rhythm and soothe emotions.But due to objective reasons in vast rural area's schools' economic and hardware situations,there are a lot of problems such as slackened organization and simplified activities.Therefore the effects are not very satisfying.This essay inteds to comprehensively utilize some methods to summarize the investigative findings of the conditions of Linquan's Junior high schools' long break sporting activities,to sum up the existing problems and propose relevant solutions.The findings and proposed solutions will be fed back to Linquan county's educational authorities so that remedial measures can be taken and more attention can be paid to long break sports and also,lessons and references about Linquan's rural Junior high schools' long break sporting activities can be effectively made.The conclusions are following:1.Most students are satisfactory about long break physical activities and are eager to take part in them.The ratio of male students who are fond of activities is higher than that of female students.But 81%of students have little or no knowledge about the significance of long break physical activities.Most students' purpose of taking part in long break physical activities is not enhancing the physical fitness but passing the physical graduate examination of junior high school or being obligated by regulations.2)Most P.E.teachers and parents of grade one and two students are supportive about conducting long break physical activity but 90%of grade three students' parents and 33%of school leaders are indiffernt or objective to it.3)Most junior high schools haven't conducted suff-icient propaganda about real purpose and value of long break sports activities.Nearly half students and parents are not eager towards sports activities.Only a small percentage of schools carry out regular maintenance of fields and apparatus.In harsh weathers students are mostly set free and the safety measures taken by schools are far from enough.4)Only nearly 30%of schools have unified organization over long break sporting activities.The rest of the schools have students sport freely or let class advisor decide form of sports and the sporting activities lack efficient organization.A very large percentage of schools have only extremely limited sporting fields and apparatus.For example,only 15.3%of schools have standard athletic field.5)Most schools take up radio gymnastics as the main form of long break sports activities.Only a small percentage of schools conduct activities like group dancing,basketball,table tennis;badminton,etc,which means the forms of activities are simplified.The essay proposes solutions as following:1)The attitudes of students and parents should be emphasized so everyone can actively plan and take part in sports activities.2)The propaganda should be strengthened to promote willingness of students' activity.3)The form of long break sports activity should be enriched so that the effects can be promoted.4)The fields and facilities need to be effectively planned and be given more financial input.5)Build up stronger teaching staff and more effective teaching training system.6)Setup a specialized organizational system and reasonable rewards and penalties system.
