GCSE Chinese Test is the most mainstream Chinese test in Britain,including four parts:listening,reading,writing and speaking.According to the GCSE results counted in recent years,students’ speaking test scores are generally lower than other parts.Students’ oral expression in Chinese has always been a shortcoming in Chinese language ability.Therefore,the teaching of spoken Chinese for GCSE needs to be improved as soon as possible.At present,the teaching of spoken Chinese in Britain is being adjusted to adapt to the reformed examination.The GCSE spoken Chinese test’s reform also seeks to coordinate with the process of spoken Chinese teaching and curriculum in British secondary schools.In view of the close relationship between spoken Chinese teaching and the test,this paper will analyze the GCSE spoken Chinese test,combining with the investigation of the spoken Chinese teaching situation in Britain so as to summarize the enlightenment of test evaluation to teaching and explore effective measures to improve spoken Chinese teaching in British secondary schools.This paper mainly divided into five parts.Firstly,the author makes a brief description on the significance of the topic,previous research outcomes,research idea and methods.Because the relevant research on British secondary education level GCSE Chinese test is quite limited.In the second chapter,the author will introduce and discuss the form,content and grading standards of GCSE spoken Chinese test as well as the new changes and features of the reformed test,in order to understand the specific requirements of the new GCSE spoken Chinese test for students’spoken Chinese ability.There are two parts in the third chapter:One is to analyze the spoken Chinese corpus of students in the test according to the scoring standard of the examination system,so as to summarize the problems and shortcomings of students’ oral expression in Chinese.The other is to investigate teachers’ and students’ feedback on GCSE spoken Chinese test to reflect on the relationship between test and teaching and learning from the perspective of teachers and students.The purpose is to seek a breakthrough to improve the exam-based oral Chinese teaching and further explore the effective countermeasures to improve the spoken Chinese teaching in British secondary schools.On the basis of investigating and analyzing the speaking test,the author draws up the reasons of the students’ oral Chinese problems to carry out the design and implementation of the investigation,and makes a targeted investigation on the teaching situation of spoken Chinese in English middle schools and summarizes the practical problems existing in teaching material,classroom teaching and curriculum.In last chapter,based on the analysis of GCSE spoken Chinese test,objective teaching situation and the problems in teaching,the author expounds some inspirations of the test to spoken Chinese teaching.This chapter puts forward the corresponding countermeasures in line with the actual teaching situation in the UK from three aspects:the optimization of teaching resources,the improvement of spoken Chinese classroom teaching,and the construction of Chinese teaching team in the UK in order to provide some ideas and suggestions for improving the teaching levels of spoken Chinese.
