According to the statistics of《China Mass Make Space White Paper 2018》,by the end of 2017,the number of mass make Space has reached 5,739,an increase of more than 33% compared with 2016.The situation is good but there are also problems that cannot be ignored,service level needs to be improved,homogenization is serious,profit model is simple,and operational efficiency is low.Universities,as the main body of technological innovation,and the active promoters of mass make space,are even more so.Therefore,how to promote the sustainable development of the mass make space has become an urgent issue for the academic and theoretical circles.One of the keys to solving the problems faced by the mass make space is to enhance the participation of makers,and the makers are the core of the mass make space.Those who have the ability cast a significant impact on the mass make space’s development.Aiming at this problem,firstly,the dissertation based on the theory of selfdetermination,constructs the theoretical model of the mass make space and maker engagement in the perspective of maker engagement,and then based on the survey data of 5 universities and 217 college students.The structural equation model test verifies the relationship between entrepreneurial support and maker engagement in the mass make space of technical support,economic support and social support.The dissertation found that:The mass make space technology support,economic support and social support of universities all have an impact on the participation of makers.However,under the adjustment of perceived usefulness,the impact of a single support provided on the mass make space will be weakened.The possible reasons are that the main makers of colleges mass make space are post-90 s college students,with complex and diverse ideas,and there are phenomena such as actively accepting new things but lacking sense of responsibility,having their own opinions on things but seldom take actions.Second,entrepreneurship is a comprehensive process,It is a system driven by hardware and software.Therefore,under the adjustment of perceived usefulness,space provides support for a single factor,and maker does not have such a high willingness to participate in innovation and entrepreneurship.In addition,it is worth noting that the perceived usefulness does not significantly affect the technology support of the space and the maker engagement.Because the technical support of the space in colleges and universities is out of line with the market demand,the technical theory is at the forefront,surpassing the market demand,and transforming scientific and technological achievements is low,so college students do not feel the usefulness of technical support.Based on the above research conclusions,in order to solve the problems that colleges mass make space sustainable development might face,this dissertation puts forward relevant management suggestions from the perspective of maker engagement.Entrepreneurial support of the colleges mass make space is important to meet the psychological needs of makers,enhance the willingness of makers to innovate and start businesses.In terms of technical support,should refer to the actual needs of makers,improving the technical matching.In addition,the entrepreneurial support provided in the university’s mass make space should be provided to the makers collaborative technology,economy and society aspects,reducing the number of times only providing financial support or social support.At the same time,the university’s mass make space should enhance the propaganda and interpretation of entrepreneurship support.
