A Study On Weariness Problem Of High-grade Boys In Primary School

Students' weariness is the negative mental state and bad behavior of students towards academic activities,which consists of three major elements—attitude,emotion and behavior.Students' weariness attitude is a stable psychological tendency for students to get tired of their academic activities,and a negative evaluation of the significance,process and value of learning.Students' weariness emotion refers to the psychological experience and reaction of students who are tired of academic activities.Students' weariness behavior is a series of explicit activities after students' tired attitude and emotion to academic activities.This study aims to research the current state and weariness reason of high-grade boys in primary school through the analysis of weariness features and reason to explore the educational compensation strategies which can alleviate weariness of high-grade boys in primary school.Three investigation methods of this research are questionnaire,interview and case study.Fifth and sixth graders of fifteen classes from three primary schools in S province were selected as research subject to do the questionnaire.A total of 700 questionnaires were sent out and 612 ones were collected with the effective rate of 87.4%.Four teachers and 20 students were interviewed while two students were chosen as case study.Research found that the weariness of high-grade boys in primary school showed the following features.First,high-grade boys in primary school are slightly more serious than the girls in the dimension of weariness attitude.Second,there is an obvious tendency to weariness among high-grade boys with weak family cultural capital in primary school.Third,high-grade boys who lack successful learning experience in primary school are highly predictive of weariness.Fourth,the lack of good parent-children relationship is the main reason of high-grade boys' weariness in primary school.Fifth,bad study habits aggravate high-grade boys' weariness in primary school.Sixth,the disharmony between teachers and students will lead to weariness of high-grade boys in primary school.Seventh,the unbalance of curriculum structure and overburden of homework will induce weariness of high-grade boys in primary school.The educational compensation strategies of high-grade boys' weariness in primary school are put forward according to above features.First,provide boys with more successful experience in school life.Second,guide the boys' families in establishing a good parent-child relationship.Third,help develop good study habits of boys to improve theircompetency for school activities.Fourth,establish harmonious teacher-student relationship,offer boys more education support and protect their interest in learning.Fifth,improve teacher's strategies of homework assignment to increase boys' interest of homework.Sixth,optimize curriculum and innovate assessment system to arouse boys' enthusiasm of learning.
