With the promulgation of the curriculum standard for senior high school(2017),the new requirements for the teaching of function are put forward,so that students can use function to solve mathematics problems and practical problems.The concept of function is highly abstract and its representation is complicated,which makes it difficult for students to understand functions.Mathematical multi-representations theory can provide more effective theoretical support for function teaching.This paper attempts to apply mathematics multi-representations theory to function teaching through theoretical and practical research,which provides an effective model for function teaching and deepen students' understanding to function.This paper adopts the methods of literature research,investigation,case analysis and experimental research,combining the mathematical multi-representations theory and the dual coding theory to promote functional learning.First of all,the translation model between the multi-representations systems inside and outside the function is constructed,which is helpful for students to understand the highly abstract functional knowledge more accurately.Secondly,the transformation model of function external multi-representations system is constructed,which is beneficial for students to understanding the various concepts of function in an all-round and intuitive way.In order to verify the effectiveness of the functional teaching model,the teaching experiments are designed based on two teaching models.Through the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the pre-test data and the post-test data of the experiment,the results show that the two teaching models are of great significance to the teaching of function.The research shows that the translation and transformation model of function multi-representation theory can promote students' meaningful learning of function,optimize students' understanding to function knowledge,and provide a new way of thinking for teachers' function teaching.Mathematics multi-representations theory has guiding value for mathematics learning,but this paper aims to apply this theory into the function learning.Therefore,mathematics multi-representations theory applied other mathematics knowledge needs to be further explored.
