In modern distance education,in the face of plenty of multi-type data produced by students and teachers,the traditional way of data display is just to list the data by tables or ordinary text.But in the big data era of distance education,such a representation method is hard to meet the requirement of data mining and display for multi-dimensional and massive data.At the same time,students and teachers who are involved in distance education are not easy to intuitively get more valuable information from complex and boring data.This thesis explores the application of data visualization technology in distance education by designing and implementing a data visualization platform.Through the data processing module of the data visualization platform,display the data in the distance education after analysis,which makes the data in the distance education vivid.So that it can let students interact with the data,effectively stimulate the learning interest of students.In addition,using the data processing module to build the decision tree model to predict whether the students need to get the help from teachers,can let teachers know the students' learning situation in time and effectively strengthen the communication between teachers and students.Firstly,according to the analysis of the present situation of distance education,I determine the target that applying the data visualization technology to distance education.Secondly,after the investigation and comparison of data visualization technology,the D3.js is used as the main method to realize the visualization function.I also analyze the related technology and algorithm theory involved in the realization of the data visualization platform.Then,the functional and non functional requirements of the data visualization platform are analyzed according to the data generated by the distance education platform.And the overall design of the visual plat form is carried out from the aspects of functional architecture,technology implementation architecture,operation architecture and deployment architecture.After that,the main functional modules of the data visualization platform are designed and implemented in detail.In the data processing module,the Apriori algorithm is used to analyze the association rules of the course purchase,and the CART algorithm is used to construct the decision tree to predict whether the students need to get the help from teachers.Finally,I connect the data visualization platform and theContinuing Education and Management Platform for Professional and Technical Personnel in Shaanxi Province.The visualization function in this thesis is applied to it,then compared and analyzed with its original data display methods.The data visualization platform designed and implemented in this thesis,after full requirement analysis,overall system architecture design and detailed functional design and implementation,is finally applied to the Continuing Education and Management Platform for Professional and Technical Personnel in Shaanxi Province.In the actual operation process,obvious effects have been achieved.It can be seen that the application of visualization technology in distance education have great practical significance.
