Oral communication is not only a demonstration of students'compre hensive language ability,but also a comprehensive reflection of thei r thinking ability,practical operation ability and creative ability,such as analysis,synthesis,judgment,reasoning,generalization and induction.As an important teaching content of Chinese subject,it s hould be highly valued by Chinese teachers.But in fact,its present situation in the actual classroom teaching is not optimistic.In orde r to better understand the oral communicative competence of vocationa 1 high school students,this paper investigates the current situation of oral Chinese communicative teaching in Tumen Vocational High Scho ol.In this process,we understand the achievements made by Tumen Voc ational High School in this respect,and find out the existing proble ms,and give reasonable suggestions.Tumen City,which belongs to Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture,is located in the eastern part of Jilin Province,at the eastern foo t of Changbai Mountains and the lower reaches of Tumen River.It lies across the river from Wencheng Prefecture of North Korea's Xianjingb ei Road.Tumen City belongs to the areas where ethnic minorities live together,especially Korean minorities.Its geographical location is relatively remote and isolated compared with the Inland areas,and i ts language environment is relatively poor.Tumen Vocational High Sch ool is the only public vocational high school in Tumen City,and its source mostly comes from the villages and towns under Tumen City.In this study,188 students and 10 teachers in the school were investiga ted and interviewed on the understanding of oral communication,the a pplication of oral communication skills and the teaching of oral comm unication by teachers.The students were also interviewed in the Chin ese class of the school,and the teaching of oral communication was o bserved.The paper is divided into five parts.The first chapter is the in troduction,which first raises questions,secondly the purpose and si gnificance of the study,then discusses the relevant research results at home and abroad,and finally defines the research methods and rel ated concepts used in this paper.Chapter two is the basis for the de velopment of oral communication teaching in senior high school.It di scusses the requirements and suggestions of oral communication in the 2017 edition of the Chinese Curriculum Standards for Senior High Sch ool,as well as the content of oral communication teaching in senior high school Chinese textbooks.The third chapter is about the current situation and effectiveness of oral Chinese communication teaching i n vocational high schools in our city.Firstly,the design and implem entation of the survey are discussed.Secondly,the achievements of o ral Chinese communication teaching in vocational high schools in our city are discussed.It includes correcting pronunciation,promoting s tudents'physical and mental health and improving their language perfo rmance.Chapter four is about the teaching of oral Chinese communicat ion in vocational high schools in our city.On the school side,there are some problems,such as insufficient class hour arrangement,insu fficient curriculum system and insufficient attention to oral communi cation.As for teachers,there are some problems,such as conservativ e teaching ideas,uneven professional accomplishments and relatively single teaching methods.On the part of students,there are two probl ems:the lack of language literacy and the weariness of learning caus ed by adolescence.The fifth chapter is the suggestions for oral comm unication teaching in the school.On the school side,it is suggested to increase the class hours and improve the curriculum system.As fo r teachers,it is suggested to change teaching ideas,improve teacher s'quality and update teaching methods.On the part of students,it is suggested that efforts should be made to improve language literacy a nd correct learning attitude.By investigating and researching the present situation of oral co mmunication teaching in Tumen Vocational High School,this paper aims to make some contributions to improving the quality of Chinese teach ing in vocational high school.
