Abstract/Summary:
As a new style of public life,social media are penetrating all aspect of social interaction,social participation and consuming.Different from the traditional media transmission,social media breaks through the limitations of time and space,which makes the communication between people more convenient,reduces the cost of information dissemination and improves the efficiency of communication.The college student community is a new force in social media audiences,and social media has gradually become their most important communication,social and learning tool.The employment problem of college students is of long standing.The information asymmetry on the job market has further exacerbated employment difficulties.It is undoubtedly of great theoretical and practical significance to seek a new way to promote the employment of college students from the perspective of enhancing the effect of employment information transmission under the serious employment situation at present.By analyzing the characteristics of social media,this paper constructs the model how social media use affects the employment performance of college students on the basis of labor market search theory and Technology Acceptance Model.Literature research and questionnaires are used in the association study of social media and graduates’ employment performance.Based on study,we put forward feasible countermeasures and suggestions for using social media to promote college students’ employment.This paper introduces the reach condition of social media use and employment performance in domestic and foreign.With the social media is widely used in e-government,e-commerce,health and other fields,social media use research is also in the process of continuous development and in-depth.Based on previous theoretical analysis,the research model and hypothesis were established,and a detailed variable measurement scale was compiled.Then,a questionnaire survey that takes graduates of Huazhong University of Science and Technology as sample was carried out by the combined method of stratified sampling and random sampling.By analyzing the 241 graduate samples using SPSS18.0 statistical software,the following conclusions were drawn: information availability,interaction and social capital have significant impact on employment performance,and there is a significant correlation between the application of social media and social capital.At last,based on the conclusion of this study,Practical recommendations on the application of social media to the employment guidance service of college students was put forward,including the construction of new media employment platform,the construction of individual social capital,and broadening the new media recruitment channels.
