Study On Reasonable Growth Path Of Migrant Workers Wage Under The New Era

According to the “Investigation Report on Migrant Workers” released by State Statistics Bureau in April 2017,the total number of migrant workers in China has reached 281.71 million in 2016,which takes 28.1% of the working-age population.As the majority force of modern industrial workers,migrant workers play an significant role of promoting urbanization and modernization of China.Thanks to the increasing attention of government to the issue of migrant workers,the working environment and the level of salaries of migrant workers have improved a lot.However,new problems arise in new situation.Although the majority of migrant workers groups no longer need to worry about the happening of not paying wages or not signing labor contracts,extremely low wages and slow wage growth still bother them.As President Xi Jinping put it,the main contradiction in our country's society has been transformed into a contradiction between the people's ever-growing needs for a better life and unbalanced development.For migrant workers,there is a conflict between the unsustainable wage level and the growing need for good living.In order to resolve this contradiction and meet the growing demand for a better life of migrant workers,a reasonable wage increase mechanism of migrant workers need to be set up.The 13 th Five-Year Plan also explicitly proposed that a scientific salary level determination mechanism,a normal growth mechanism,a payment security mechanism,and a collective wage negotiation system should be implemented.We will improve the mechanism for the minimum wage increasing and market evaluation mechanism of factors to better allocate resources.Firstly,this article briefly reviews the related research on wage growth and the growth theories in foreign countries.Secondly,it explained the practical basis and importance of migrant workers' wage growth under the new economy environment.Thirdly,on the basis of data from field survey in Yichang,Xiangyang,Huanggang,Xiantao,and Jingmen in Hubei Province,the article makes a brief introduction of the wage level of peasant workers in Hubei Province,the current status of wage increase and analysis relative influencing factors of the increase in migrant workers' wages.Finally,it puts forward corresponding policies and suggests,including increasing the support for the real economy,improving relevant laws and regulations for migrant workers,improving the capital structure of migrant workers,increasing labor productivity and strengthening the reform of the income distribution system.The article hopes that this series of policies and measures will promote the reasonable increase of wages for migrant workers from many aspects,so as to increase the income level of the working people at the bottom of society,and provide strong support for the smooth transition and development of China's economy under the New Era.
