A Research On The Chinese Sociological Society

In October 1928,some social scholars in the Shanghai area launched the society of southeast sociologists.Subsequently,it developed rapidly in Shanghai and Nanjing.In the following year,the sociology professors of universities in Beiping,including xu Shilian,Chen da,Tao Menghe and others,contacted with Sun Benwen and so on,the head of the S outheast Society.After some preparations,the Chinese Sociological Society was formally established in February 1930.The organization was a direct result of the initial development of the domestic sociology students in the late 1920 s,and it was the inevitable outcome of the development of early Chinese sociology to a certain stage.This paper examines the background and process of the establishment of Chinese Sociological Society as well as its organizational evolution,institutional exploration,education and communication activities about the early Chinese sociology.The basic theories and methods of sociology of its main members are also discussed in this paper.The following 20 years,as the only national academic organization in China,the evolution of the Chinese Sociological Society has always been closely associated with the fate of sociology.During the period,out of the early stage of the Anti-Japanese War,the society had developed rapidly.However,with the rapid development of the national situation,the activities of the Chinese Sociological Society had come to an end.In the past 20 years,the organization has made a meaningful exploration of the system of sociological research,and accelerated the construction of the local sociological thought system.In addition,it also had a great success in sociology education and publishing.While cultivating a large number of professional talents in sociology,it also leaves a rich and precious social historical material for future generations.Among the valuable social historical materials left by members of the Chinese Sociological Society,rich sociological thoughts are contained.,many of which are still of great theoretical and practical significance today.All these has promoted the overall development of sociology in China.After the study of the Chinese Sociological Society,the paper summarizes several distinctive features of the society's development in the past twodecades,and reveals its position and influence in the history of China's early sociology.
