Biology science thinking means that students can explore and explain life phenomena and laws based on biological facts and evidence,and examine or demonstrate thinking habits and abilities of biological social issues.It includes induction and generalization,deduction and reasoning,model and modeling,critical thinking,and creative thinking.KWL strategy is a teaching mode which teachers can help students enrich their learning interests and promote the development of thinking abilities like critical thinking and creative thinking.In this study,a questionnaire survey method("Questionnaire for the Current Status of Cultivation of Middle School Students' Scientific Thinking Ability in Biology Teaching in Senior High Schools")was used to investigate the current state of biological science thinking among students in grade 1,grade 2,and grade 3 in Rong Chang Middle School.In order to improve the biological science thinking of high school students,I have designed the lesson plans according to the definition of scientific thinking in the "General High School Biology Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)"(including induction and generalization,deduction and reasoning,models and modeling,and critical Five dimensions of thinking and creative thinking)and based on the KWL strategy.And I have asked first-line teachers to practice in class 5 of Rong Chang Middle School.Through my own classroom observation and interviews with teachers and students,I explored the feasibility of KWL's strategy in cultivating the science thinking of senior high school students in biology,thereby increasing the attention of teachers and students to biological science thinking,and providing teaching strategies for first-tier high school biology teachers.The results and reflections as following:(?)The current state of students' scientific thinking ability in high school biology teaching1.The overall level of students' biological thinking ability is not high,the scores about five dimensions are ranked in descending order by Descriptive's statistical analysis: model and modeling,deduction and reasoning,induction and generalization,critical thinking,and creative thinking.2.There is a very significant positive correlation between each dimension and the students' biological performance by the spearman correlation analysis.3.Some dimensions of biological science thinking have significant differences in students' genders and grades by non-parametric tests.(?)The Practice of using KWL strategy to cultivate high school students' biology science thinking ability1.It is feasible to apply KWL strategy in high school biology classes.This strategy mobilizes all students' sensory organs to participate,and it is simple and practical.2.Implementing the KWL strategy in the high school biology class is conducive to cultivating students' scientific thinking.But it depends on different course contents when it comes to the cultivation and infiltration of models and modelling.3.The limits of practicing KWL strategy in high school biology classes also can be seen in some aspects.First the abundant professional knowledge and classroom control ability of teachers are largely demanded.Second,teachers need to sift the proper readings from a large amount of topic-related readings before using KWL strategy in biology classes.The enlightenment of this study to high school biology teaching can be achieved by using KWL strategies in high school biology classes to improve senior students' biological thinking ability.
