In recent years,with the rapid development of science and technology,the production and living of mankind have been greatly improved.At the same time,mankind has also endured unprecedented threats and challenges.Such as cloning,genetically modified foods,stem cells,genetic engineering,global warming,energy choices,cell phone radiation,and so on.Those social issues like these that are closely related to social ethics and moralvaluesand social development caused by the research and development of contemporary science and technology are named SSI.Following STS,STSE,SSI has gradually become the focus of scientific education research.In foreign countries,SSI teaching has received great attention and great achievements have been made in improving citizens' scientific literacy.Looking at the domestic situation,there are few teaching and researching in SSI.This study takes SSI into the branch of science in primary school,selects the subject of marine resources development and protection to systematically study SSI teaching,discusses the feasibility of using SSI teaching in science classroom of primary school,the attitude of students and part of the impact from SSI teaching on students.In this study,the writer investigated 50 students of the sixth grade of a private school in Jining City of Shan Dong Province as the research objects.Five-hour structural demonstration teaching was conducted.The questionnaire of the exploitation and conservation of marine resources was taken as the research tool,and the experiment was randomly selected Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 15 students in the class to explore students' attitudes and influences on the integration of SSI into science classes in secondary schools.After the quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis of the data obtained from the study,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Students should take positive attitude towards the demonstration teaching of applying SSI to science classes in private school.(2)It is appropriate to apply the SSI applied the demonstration teaching of SSI to six-grade science class in private school.(3)The demonstration teaching of applying SSI to science classes in private school has achieved remarkable results,which are manifested in enhancing students' scientific knowledge,arousing their interest in science and establishing awareness of docking between science and life.Finally,the author summarizes some of the gains and deficiencies in the study,and puts forward the prospect of future research,with a view to be helpful to the research about SSI teaching and science education in primary and secondary school.
