Conical curve is one of the core contents in high school plane analytic geometry,and it is one of the key and difficult points for the high school mathematics.Although many domestic and foreign researches on conical curve have been done,the research focused on the types of errors is few.In view of this,we investigate some specific types of errors that high school juniors could make when they are solving a conical curve problem,and we base on our investigation to access their mastery level of conical curve,to help teachers know where the knowledge point is weak,and further to provide advice to the students and help them improve their weakness.The formation of the core mathematical literacy is based on many elementary mathematical knowledge and skills.The core mathematical literacy is an important definition in education,it represents students’ ability to apply mathematics in the real world.Because of that,it catches a lot of attention in recent years.In this article,we focus on the conic curve,and investigate students’ mastery of three types of conic curve questions through examination,questionnaire survey and interview survey.And then we base on these results to investigate the core literacy of students.we hope this research can make a little contribution to integrating mathematics core literacy concept into high school mathematics education.In this paper,we mainly focus on three types of conic curve questions.They are about definitions,normal equations and applying properties.Firstly,we do the research on students’ mastery of three types of questions through examination and questionnaire survey,and we sort out the error types of these questions and analyze the reasons behind it through the interview survey.Secondly,we use SOLO model to grade students’ mastery levels and grade their levels in general.Thirdly,according to students’ performances on these three types of questions,we grade their mathematical computation literacy,logical deductions literacy,mathematical modeling literacy,and mathematical abstract literacy in general.Our research shows that students don’t understand the definition of conic curve well enough,but they perform much more better in the use of normal equations,and they have good mastery of comprehensive questions of conic curves.Considering the core literacy of mathematics,students’ mathematical computation literacy remains to be improved.And their individual differences in mathematical modeling literacy are large,and their logical deductions literacy are well enough,and mathematical abstract literacy are at a general level.At the last part,based on our research,we discuss the possible reasons for our conclusions,and according to those,we give some appropriate teaching advices to probationary teachers and some study advices to students. |
