The construction of education quality evaluation is a key link in the field of education. It is an urgent need to promote the reform of comprehensive evaluation of primary and secondary school education quality, from the result evaluation of learning achievement and score as the only standard to the process evaluation of cognition, ability and emotion of students’ learning and development.Student participation is the core concept of measuring the learning process, which has a complex structure(in this study,it includes curriculum participation,extra-curricular activities, interpersonal relationships, evaluation of the school four dimensions),can reflect the development and change of students in the learning process.Academic achievement is an unavoidable key in the reform of educational quality evaluation. We emphasize the educational process, then academic performance and the pursuit of educational process is consistent or academic performance is still in the disturbance, need to explore in depth. The research object of this thesis is primary school students.the family background has a great influence on the learning and development of primary school students.Previous studies have paid attention to the relationship between family background and academic performance, but family background does not directly affect students’ academic performance,it affects students’ academic performance by influencing their participation. This is to be further verified in this study.Firstly, this paper makes a theoretical analysis of the relationship between students’ participation and academic achievement, and forms a relational structure diagram. Then the family background variables are added to discuss the theoretical relationship between the three and form an analytical framework. Then according to the content of the study revised " primary school students’ participation in learning and development questionnaire" and for Hubei,Jiangsu,Guangdong,Henan four areas of primary school students in grade 5,450,including 440 valid questionnaires, using SPSS 19.0 and amos21.0 software for statistical analysis of the data, the analysis methods are: correlation analysis, multiple linear regression analysis, structural equation model analysis. The results show that: 1.student participation is significantly related to academic performance, and each dimension of student participation acts on academic performance through a certain causal order.2.curriculum participation and extracurricular activities can explain the differences of students’ mathematics and English scores, and interpersonal relationship and evaluation of schools can explain the differences of students’ Chinese scores.3.among the four dimensions of student participation, the evaluation of school can only explain 8.7 % of students’ academic achievement difference, which is far lower than the explanation of the other three dimensions.4.family background does not directly affect academic achievement,it indirectly affects academic achievement by influencing students’ participation.Based on the results of the study, the following suggestions are put forward: 1.school education should return to the process to promote students’ high-level performance;2.according to the difference of subjects, the emphasis of educational process is determined:cultivating emotion first in Chinese subjects;Mathematics curriculum content is given priority to,enhance the status of extracurricular activities;English subject is activity-centered;3,to consider the " exception" in the students, and effectively achieve student-centered,improve the evaluation method;4,with student participation as the starting point, strengthen the cooperation between home and school, promote the fairness of education of different classes of students;5,improve the status of process evaluation, set up value-added evaluation.
