In recent years,as the hotel industry is one of the three pillars of tourist industry,the overall development from the high star-rated hotels to economical hotels is very rapid.With the aim of cultivating talents,the development of the hotel management specialty in tourism colleges is increasingly enlarging.From the perspective of demand of industry talent,the employment prospects of hotel management specialty graduates are very broad.However,the shortage of human resources and high staff turnover rate in the hotel industry have always been the bottleneck and difficulty for the development of the hotel industry.Secondary vocational schools are usually in accordance with the training objectives and teaching plan of hotel management specialty,to organize students to the hotel for trainee or internship activities,to exercise students’ hotel professional ability and professional sense of belonging,in order to achieve the goal of cultivating high-quality professionals in the hotel front line.However,the reality is that most students of hotel management specialty in secondary vocational schools are reluctant to stay in the hotel industry after the internship,and some of them even change jobs directly during the internship.The potential loss of interns in hotel management specialty has attracted the attention and research of vocational schools and academic circles.In this paper,on the basis of literature study,through focus group interviewing hotel management professional teachers of ten secondary vocational schools,experts and industry personnel in Guangxi,to comprehensive analysis of the main reason and influence mechanism of potential loss of interns for the hotel management specialty,to explore and to explore and build a model based on systematic design and multi-party interaction to block the potential loss of interns,and selected Guilin Vocational Education Central School for empirical study.Through sampling interview and questionnaire,the relevant data analysis shows that the influencing factors of interns potential loss problems include the following four aspects: the first is that the vocational orientation of students is insufficient;Secondly,the school’s process management of internship is vacancy;thirdly,the management system of enterprise interns is not perfectenough.Fourthly,the influence of Chinese traditional culture and social prejudice.The school should promote the cultivation and normalization of hotel professional culture.Strengthen the cooperation between secondary schools and enterprise,improve the practice process management and improve the system construction;strengthen cultural communication and public education and gradually establish modern social values of professional respect and equality.It will fundamentally change the phenomenon of hotel interns’ potential loss and promote the employment and career development of hotel management graduates.
