This thesis focuses on the science test papers of the National College Entrance Examinations(NCEE)from 2013 to 2017 in National II,Jiangsu province and Shanghai. The overall structure, the thinking methods, and the difficulty of the test papers are compared so that the conclusions drawn can serve as suggestions for thinking methods teaching and learning as well as the test papers design in high school mathematics.Through comparative research, the conclusions obtained are as follows:1.The NCEE test papers in the National II,Jiangsu province, and Shanghai from 2013 to 2017 are almost structurally stable.Jiangsu and Shanghai test papers pay more attention to the subjective questions than National II test papers.2.The importance of mathematics thinking methods is stressed in all the three NCEE test papers from 2013 to 2017.All of them stress the importance of examining the thinking methods “Functions and equations” and “Reduction and transformation”.The National II and the Jiangsu test papers also pay much attention to using “Combination of number and shape”,while Shanghai volume also values the thinking method of “classification and integration ”.3.Multi-solution to one question is also highly valued in all the three NCEE test papers from 2013 to 2017.There are many questions involved in two ways of thinking methods, and three or four solutions can be applied to several questions.Generally speaking, the National II test papers tend to combine “Functions and equations”and “Reduction and transformation”,the Jiangsu test papers examine both “Functions and equations” and “Combination of number and shape” or “Functions and equations”and “Reduction and transformation” in most of the questions. In the Shanghai test papers,however,multi-solution is not very fixed, mainly the combination of“Functions and equations” and other methods.4.In terms of the comprehensive difficulty of the three NCEE test papers from 2013 to 2017,the most demanding of the five difficulty factors is the calculation level, and the minimum requirement is the background level. The National II test papers have the highest requirements for both the exploration and background level, while the Shanghai test papers the lowest. The calculation level is maximized in the Jiangsu test papers but minimized in the Shanghai test papers. As for the reasoning level, the Jiangsu test papers demand most but the Shanghai test papers least.Besides, knowledge capacity is required most in the National II test papers, but least in the Shanghai test papers. In conclusion, the Shanghai test papers call for lower requirement than National II and the Jiangsu test papers for the above five difficulty factors.
