| Initiation education in ancient China is the treasure of our ancient education history,which originates from “official school” in the Shang and Zhou Dynasties.It gradually spread to the ordinary people with the private schools started in the later.But because of frequent wars and slow development of economic and social,initiation education had its ups and downs with the replacing of dynasties.It had a stable development gradually until the Han Dynasty and ran through the two thousand years of feudal society.The ancients always attached importance to education,especially to enlighten education about infants,so in the process of initiation education’s development emerged a lot of famous educators,such as Confucius,Yan Zhitui,Zhu xi,Cheng Yi and so on.They wrote,set up theories and ran schools,driving the formation of initiation education ideology.Initiation education’s aim was to foster “seeding of saints”,which put moral education,life education and cultural common sense education as the main content,and in its inheritance and development producing a lot of initiation teaching materials,such as YanShi Family Precepts,Advice to My Son,Ti Tzu Kui,Three Character Classic and so on,which are still popular today.Though with feudal thought,initiation education has many advantages which is worthy for today’s childhood enlighten education to learn from.Modern preschool education has achieved significant progress compared with the ancient Chinese education.The major functions of modern preschool education is to develop children’s intelligence,promote the development of personality,cultivate children’s aesthetic feeling.Around this goal,its eductional systme and subject setting are increasingly perfect and reasonable and education idea is also more advanced.On the one hand,it thanks to the rapid development of modern economic society,on the other hand is also the result of collisions between culture of eastern and western.Early childhood education plays an important role in the all-round development of children and the talent cultivation in China.It is an important link of the whole education system,so we should not ignore it.But there are some problems in modern preschool education,even existes some phenomenon against law of children’s physical and mental development,so it needs to be reformed and innovated.Because initiation education in ancient China contains profound scientific culture,in the practice of modern preschool education reform,we can find out the similarity between the two points and provide certain reference for modern children education. |
