Teachers' teaching activity dose not only affect individual development of students,but also involving their school development.In junior college,self-development of teachers is closely related to teaching quality and school development especially.However it is known that the abilities of teachers including teaching and research abilities in junior college have to be improved,all of these need teachers themselves to keeping improving and developing.In the process of improvement and development,the autonomy and initiative of teachers will directly affect self-development of their professions.Therefore,we should take self-development of teachers as the core content in the research on self-development of teacher profession and keep it as the important content for teachers' development.This paper firstly explains the concepts of teachers' self-development and self-development of teacher profession,and then introduces the achievement motivation theory in self-development research on teacher profession.Secondly,this paper introduces the basic characteristics of self-development for teacher profession,and studies 4 stages of self-development of teacher profession: stages in germination for professional autonomy,beginning stage of professional autonomy,mature stage of professional autonomy and consolidation stage of professional autonomy.And then,the paper took a certain junior college of Ningxia as example to investigate self-development of teacher profession by questionnaire survey and interview.The author summarized the problems about the self-development of teacher profession in the college and analyzed the reasons about these problems.In the end of this paper,the author put forward corresponding countermeasure and suggestion on self-development of teacher profession in junior college from 3 aspects:self-development of teachers,better school environment and better political support educational authorities.It is hoped that this paper can provide beneficial effect on self-development of teacher profession in junior college.
