"Statistics and probability" has wide application in real life,and is an important content in the high school mathematics.Great changes of "Statistics and probability" have taken place in both the content setting,teaching requirements,and the direction of the college entrance examination.In order to improve teaching effects of the "Statistics and probability",and to provide referential suggestions,I focus my research on the characteristics of the test questions of "Statistics and probability",with the the contents of "statistics and probability" in the college entrance examination as the breakthrough point.This paper mainly analyses parts of the tests of the college entrance examination on "statistics and probability",which are from 16 sets of the college entrance examination in 2013-2015,using literature method,comparison method and statistics method.And it focuses on the distribution of the knowledge point,the knowledge unit,the background,and the thinking method,with the purpose of studying the source and the new characteristics of them.The study found that after the new curriculum reform,the test of "Statistics and probability" in the college entrance examination covers nearly all knowledge points regarding to "statistics and probability";meanwhile,“the distribution of discrete random variables”,“mathematical expectation”,“classical subscheme”,“binomial theorem”,“counting principle”,“the frequency distribution histogram”,and “the geometric model” have the highest test frequency.The test on the probability is more than that on the statistics as far as the knowledge unit is concerned.The test background mostly comes from the actual life which the students are familiar with,showing the fairness of the exam background principle.When focusing on the source of the test,we can find that the questions of "statistics and probability" are mostly not only from the textbook but also above the textbook.From the new characteristics the test shows,the author puts forward suggestions for teachers in the teaching of "statistics and probability" :1.Teachers must strengthen the understanding of curriculum standard,andimprove their professional accomplishment;2.The teaching process should arouse students' interest in learning,leading students to participate in it actively;3.Teachers should lead students to learn how to learn the statistical approach and how to develop random thinking;4.The teaching method should pay attention to the effective integration of information technology and mathematics teaching;5.The study of “Statistics and probability” should reveal the inner link between statistics and probability.
