The Research Of Ethical Dilemma And Decisions In Corporate Social Work

Corporate Social Work is the application of professional methods and values of Social Work to the Social Work practice in the enterprise’s system,and provides services for employees,employees’ family members,and related third parties.However,in the process of serving enterprise systems,social workers need to face companies that aim for profit,employees who pursue welfare benefits,and other interested parties that have interests,corporate social workers are often trapped in conflicts such as conflicts of interest and value concepts.In addition,the lack of Social Work ethics with local characteristics has virtually increased the difficulty for corporate social workers to solve ethical issues.This paper uses participatory observation and interviewing methods,and combines service experience in the Corporate Social Work site and interviews with 20 interviewees to explore the ethical dilemmas faced by corporate social workers in practice.After sorting out and analyzing the collected data,this paper concludes that these ethical issues can be summarized into six categories: First,the conflict between personal interest and Social Work values;Second,the ethical code stipulates the conflict with the actual needs of the work;Third,the conflict caused by the secrecy issue;Fifth,the dilemma of unclear ethical concept of Social Workers;Sixth,the contradiction between professional values and institutional interests.Through studying this article,we believe that there are four reasons for the emergence of ethical dilemmas in Corporate Social Work practices.First,the dilemmas of Corporate Social Workers positioning in business services;second,most social workers lack ethical awareness or ethical literacy;Third,the lack of a comprehensive ethical code in mainland social work;and finally,between Social Work value concepts and corporate philosophy Conflict.Under the traditional ethical ideology of our country,combining local social context and Western Social Work ethics,this paper believes that when making choices in the ethical issues of Corporate Social Work practices,we should adhere to the following ethical principles: benefit-sharing,case-based,equal opportunity,the process and results are equal.After comprehensive analysis,this paper believes that changing the current ethical issues in Corporate Social Work practices should also proceed from the following five aspects.First,social workers should have ethical awareness and self-consciousness;Second,improve the proportion and quality of Social Work ethics education;Third,Social Work agencies should have an ethical review function;Fourth,develop a standardized and operational Chinese Social Work Ethics Code;Fifth,increase publicity to increase business awareness of Corporate Social Work.
