As China's third largest hometown of overseas Chinese,Hainan is known as the "Capital of Overseas Chinese" and "Hometown of Overseas Chinese".It is rooted in Chinese culture,but at the same time,it also embodies cultural features such as openness and tolerance,charity and devotion,hometown-loving and patriotism.The reason overseas Chinese in Hainan had become the“pioneer of revolution”and“mother of revolution”in modern Chinese history,and served as the “pillar of construction” for China's rise,is because they have spread the idea of ? ? democratic republican while absorbing overseas cultures,and have actively participated in the construction of their motherland.As a model in Hainan's local culture,Hainan's overseas Chinese culture has become part of the construction of socialist spiritual civilization and a humanistic spirit of the Hainan people.This spirit,featuring enterprising,openness,tolerance,diligence,and dedication,is the crystallization of Hainan's local culture obtained overseas.It echoes the national spirit of China and is consistent with the core values? ? of socialism.Therefore,the abundant humanistic education resources contained in Hainan's overseas Chinese culture are closely linked with the secondary education.It is worthy of us to explore and disseminate,and it should be an important part of local curriculum resources.The purpose of this study lies in exploring the curriculum resource with respect to the overseas Chinese history,drawing up excellent overseas Chinese culture and integrating with secondary school teaching,so as to develop Hainan overseas-Chinese-culture-oriented school-based curriculum.The development of school-based curriculum on Hainan's overseas Chinese cultural is later than that of other overseas Chinese areas in China,and therefore there is also a lack of research on the necessity of establishing courses on overseas Chinese culture in Hainan's overseas Chinese schools.The study,adopting Hainan Qiongshan Overseas Chinese High School as a case to probe into the introduction of overseas Chinese culture into the classroom and cultural curriculum into overseas Chinese schools,tries to provide a detailed analysis and reflection on the origin,development,and inheritance of Hainan's overseas Chinese culture,as well as on theunderstanding and the reception of schools,teachers and students on Hainan overseas Chinese culture,and,based on which,to offer a lot of basis and constructive opinions on the introduction of overseas Chinese culture into school textbooks.It is hoped that,through the study,more insights could be given for the integration of outstanding overseas Chinese culture in Hainan with the school-based curriculum.
