In recent years, educational informatization has been accelerating and educational reform has been deepened in China. The learning of Bring Your Own Device(hereinafter referred to as BYOD)has become the “lever” of information technology application. However,as a systematic project,BYOD is facing many challenges in practice.Whether parents get strong support and active participation is one of the key elements of the success of BYOD.After all,BYOD requires parents to purchase learning terminal equipment, control the use of equipment at home, and participate in the learning process with BYOD.However, few studies in China have focused on the issue of parental involvement in BYOD.Therefore,it is a great challenge for educators and researchers to understand how parents involve in the learning of BYOD in primary school and how to improve their ability to support or supervise student’s BYOD learning process scientifically. This study taked the parents of primary school students in grade 2-6 as the subject. This study included two parts: first, the development of research tools. On the basis of the literature research of summarizing the traditional parents’ participation under the traditional environment, with characteristics of BYOD integrated, the relevant contents and possible factors are summed up in this study.Through in-depth interviews with some parents, and referring to the relevant scales and questionnaires, this study compiled a questionnaire on parental involvement in BYOD in primary school. After a multiple review of the questionnaire, the survey was carried out in a small range and recover 222 valid data.we used SPSS software to conduct project analysis, exploratory factor analysis, and reliability and validity test. Finally, the five aspects of parents participation was established, including participation in school activities,home-school communication,parent-child communication, learning guidance, and home supervision. The original questionnaire was revised to get the formal questionnaire. The study selected four primary school students’ parents in Shanghai,Wuxi,Changzhou,Shenzhen and other places to carry out a large-scale formal investigation, and finally recovered 404 valid questionnaires. In this study, confirmatory factor analysis and reliability and validity tests were conducted on the sample using Mplus software to confirm the reliability of the research tool.Second, this study used the self-made questionnaire and the SPSS software to investigate the status of parents’ participation, and used the Mplus’ s exploratory structural equation model to make an attempt to simplify the parents’ participation structure.By using the path analysis method, the effects of parents’ belief,home-school relationship and children’s behavior performance on parental participation were explored.Through the study,we have drawn the following conclusions.(1)According to the degree of parents’ initiative affected by the school’s organizational system, parental involvement in BYOD at primary school can be further divided into passive involvement(participation in school activities)and active involvement(including home-school communication,parent-child communication, learning guidance, and home supervision).(2)The passive involvement of parents(participation in school activities)is not frequent, but the frequency is generally higher in active involvement(including home-school communication,parent-child communication, learning guidance, and home supervision). There is the rank in order of frequency of parental involvement, that is home supervision,family-school communication,parent-child communication, learning guidance and participation in school activities.(3)The factors that affect parental involvement in the learning of BYOD in primary school include parent belief(self-efficacy,responsibility awareness),home-school relationship and children’s behavior. The intrinsic motivation of parents has a moderate impact on parental involvement, while extrinsic motivation(home-school relationship and children’s behaviors)exerts a strong influence on parental involvement.Specifically, the stronger the parents’ beliefs, the more friendly the home-school relationship, and the better the children’s behaviors, the higher the frequency of parental involvement.
