Cognitive diagnosis is the core concept of test theory for a new generation of tests, which originated from Cognitive Psychology and Modern Surveying, and has been widely concerned since its proposed by scholars.Unlike standard test theory, cognitive diagnosis can diagnose implicit statistical structures, which can provide more information about students' not just focus on the score. The DINA model is one of the latent class models based on the rule space model. The DINA model has been applied in many disciplines to diagnose students'knowledge status, such as mathematics and English, however there are few studies in chemistry. This paper takes the theory of cognitive diagnosis as the theoretical basis, and choose one part of chemical language, writing chemical equations,as the study content.More than 500 junior high school students from Guangzhou were selected to participate in this research. The research consists of two parts. The first part is the preparation of cognitive diagnostic test papers.Based on the curriculum standards and the test outline we divided seven cognitive attributes, decide the attribute hierarchy and use oral reporting method to test its rationality. Then, based on Q matrix theory,we obtain a test matrix to work out items which will consist test paper. Finally,we choose items based on test matrix and get a test paper used in the first test. Then we choose twenty items according the test results to compose the final test paper. The second part analyzes the cognitive results of study content.First, the collected paper are coded by 0-1 scoring.Secondly, using the DINA model to estimate the items'estimation(s and g),and using the MAP algorithm to classify the subjects' performance. Finally, using the self-complied program to calculate seven attributes' master probability. In this paper,we can draw conclusions:(1)The knowledge structure of the "Write Chemical Equation" for junior high school students consists of a convergent structure composed of seven cognitive attributes.(2)There were differences in the seven cognitive attributes among the subjects, except that the attributes A4(chemical formula)and A7(written chemical equation)were the worst, and the remaining 5 attributes were better.(3)Most students can be classified into 20 attribute mastering modes.School QL and school MD have differences in attribute mastering probability and classification.(4)teachers can obtain more information from cognitive diagnosis than traditional test,in which can distinguish students with same score and students with same attributes mode.(5)By diagnosing the contents of the "writing chemistry equation" for junior high school students,it was found that cognitive diagnosis based on DINA model can be applied in chemistry knowledge structure measurement.
