| The Sino-Japanese war quickly spread to the province of Anhui after it’s totally broke out.School education was almost paralyzed in Anhui province under the ruthless ravage of the Japanese aggressors.Apart from several schools in the mountainous area of southern Anhui province,without exception,secondary education institutions were forced to close or transfer to the other place in a short period of time.Japanese invaders took great efforts to sabotage the educational institutions,at the same time,they paralyzed and controled the people,what’s more,they enslaved the young students and tried to cultivate obedient citizens in Anhui province.Therefore,there were a large group of students out of school and countless suffering teachers and students.Facing the dilemma of being cut off of the national education,the top leaders of the national government realized the urgency and importance of saving the young students,therefore,they instructed the official of Department of Education in Anhui province to help the teachers and students to pull it through.Immediately,the official of the government and Department of Education in Anhui province began to provide assistance to the teachers and students of this area.Specifically,in order to promote the development of the education,they offered the instruction for the secondary school,which continuously operated,transferred or newly established in this area during the warfare of Sino-Japanese.This action helped a lot of young unemployed teenagers and remained the lifelines of the secondary education in Anhui province.Meanwhile,the government also actively provided instrucition and help for those secondary school in Anhui province,which forcibly transfered to other areas or provinces on the particular circumstances of warfare.More specifically,it includes the process of transferring,registration,fund-raising and restoration.These great measures not only provided an opportunity for the students to receive the education again,but also enriched and promoted the development of the secondary education in Hunan and Sichuan provinces.This group of excellent intellectuals who developed in the hardships of the warfare environment eventually became the backbone force of establishing and developing the postwar country.This thesis elaborates the secondary education governed by national government from the inside and outside of Anhui province on the basis of dividing its zone and focus on the eight years of full-scale anti-Japanese war.Then,it makes a summary for the historical achievement of the secondary education in Anhui province obtained in the period of warfare,and analyzes its shortcomings.The purpose of this thesis is to enrich the research on Chinese Nation’s educational development in the period of Anti-Japanese War. |
