The rapid development of information technology promotes changes in today's education, and the mode of blended learning arises at this historic moment with the educational reformation. In this regard, learners are much empowered with the new educational ideology "Letting the initiative of learning back to learners",encouraging learners to learn collaboratively in many ways. But each learner has his or her own goal and the team their learning object,in such newly emerging learning activities, how learners collaborate and build a shared object becomes critical to effectively carry out learning activities. Thus, this study discussed the significance of constructing a share object of learning activities from the perspectives of constructivist learning theory and activity theory, focusing on the analyses of learning motivation and object-oriented interactions. In order to understand the real situation of blended learning activities in the process of constructing a shared object and interacting among team members, this study examined a university course "Organizational Learning and Knowledge Management".It adopted an ethnographic qualitative research method. The data of the study included audio/video recordings of the class learning activities and time log of discussions in terms of team assignment and course materials online and offline. This thesis study consisted of three sub-studies.Sub-study 1 explored the construction of a shared object of each team in terms of learning motivation. It examined how motivation of different teams affected the construction of the shared object. The results of the study showed that in the same learning task, the construction of the shared object was different, and learning motivation of each team would influence the construction of the shared object.Sub-study 2 discussed how the object-oriented and dominant type of interaction of each team affected the construction of the shared object. The results showed that the more frequent the team members interacted each other and the deeper they communicated, the better they constructed the shared object.Sub-study 3 explored the relationship between the construction of the shared object and learning effectiveness in blended course learning from the "explicit" level of academic performance and the "tacit"level of expansive learning.According to different tasks, expansive learning can be divided into two phases of "given new" and "creative new".The study found that from the "explicit"level, the team that had a better situation in the construction of the shared object had better academic outcome. From the aspect of "tacit" consideration, the examination of "the new model" is the most important circle in the development of expansive learning.Learners completed the process of constructing new solutions through the gradual in-depth questions and analysis explanation,so as to achieve the integration of individual and collective knowledge, boosted the nature of expansive learning.
