With our nation attaches great importance to innovation awareness,innovative thinking,and innovative ability,“Maker Education” has gradually received attention and has been implemented in every country around the world.STEM education is a concept,which aims at promoting science and technology education and cultivating students’ comprehensive competences.Maker Education is a good platform and carrier for STEM education.At the same time,the STEM concept is also providing more possibilities for the development and practice of Maker Education.At present,maker education in China is heatedly developing,and many schools have already purchased a large number of maker education equipment,such as robots and 3D printers.Maker space has also sprung up in various schools.However,the implementation of maker education in various schools in these schools is usually problematic,such as the extensive versions of maker education concept,a comprehensive variation of teaching platforms,and the overly traditional teaching model.Based on the above discussion,this paper focuses on the design and development of the STEM-integrated robot maker education project,andits relevant exploratory research as well.The structure of this paper is:Firstly,it introduces the research background,education background and current problems,and it defines the research purpose,content,framework,methodology and the significance of this research.Secondly,the paper reviews domestic and international maker education from three aspects,which include maker education platform,concept,and model,laying an integrated literature foundation for the follow-up research.Thirdly,it explains the theoretical basis for the design and development of the STEM-integrated robot maker education project.Fourthly,it takes the current problems as a starting point to study the design and development of the STEM-integrated robot maker education project,developing related project design models.Fifthly,it develops relevant project cases in accordance with the design model of the maker education program.Implemented in the primary schools in Wenzhou,and gradually deepens relevant research.Through this research,we hope to better design and develop STEM-integrated Robot Maker Education Project to solve the problems faced by current maker education and to explore new ways of developing maker education.
