It is the most common phenomenon for school-age children to carry schoolbags back and forth to and from school. In particular, the high requirements of schools and parents for their students to further study, the students' schoolbags become heavier and heavier, and the children's heavier schoolbags will inevitably have an impact on their own gait, and the effect is more obvious than that of adults.Because of the longer duration and the more serious impact, the backpacks used for daily schooling have become an obvious physical burden for students, posing a threat to the physical health of school-age children. Therefore,it is necessary to determine the impact of backpack weight on children through experimental analysis. The soft and hard soles of children's shoes are also concerned by parents and researchers. The soft and hard soles are believed to be closely related to heel pain, flattening feet and the appearance of hoop legs and knee valgus.Through literature review,it is found that there are few experimental studies combining the different weights of the children's daily backpack and the different variables of the shoes they wear, and both variables are closely related to the children's gait.In this study, the influence of hardness and weight of backpack on gait of children aged 7-12 years was studied by using none?10%BW schoolbag?15%BW schoolbags and two shoes with different soft and hard soles as control variables. The main research methods used in this study are questionnaire survey and experimental method. After the preliminary investigation,120 children were selected for the questionnaire according to their age group, and 120 children were asked to fill out the physical condition questionnaire accompanied by their parents. In order to ensure that the subjects who had no skeletal, muscle, nerve and psychological problems and no history of hospitalization within one year were selected, the weight settings of shoes and backpacks were determined on the basis of questionnaire survey. The conclusions of the study are as follows:(1)Starting with 10%BW backpack, the support period of children during walking has been significantly prolonged. When the weight of backpack increased to 15%BW,the gait period and support period of children were significantly prolonged, and the increment of gait cycle and support period in soft sole shoes was larger than that in hard soled shoes. The main influencing factor of gait feature is the weight of backpack. The total weight of backpack used by children should not exceed 10%BW.it is not advisable to wear shoes with soft sole when carrying heavy backpack.(2)When the weight of the backpack exceeded 10%BW,the children showed an obvious tendency to lean forward when they walked, and the change was more obvious when wearing soft soles. The degree of stooping increased with the weight of the backpack, and the body posture of the girls changed more when they walked with the weight of the backpack.Soft soles increase the degree of gait deformation.(3)Starting with a 10%BW backpack, the weight of the backpack extends the heel force time, increases the load of the arch, increases the instability of the heel, and increases the risk of outward turning.(4)Starting with the 15%BW backpack, the load on the heel and arch increased significantly, the weight of the backpack increased the risk of calcaneal injury, and children were more likely to feel tired during daily walking.(5)When children walk with heavy schoolbags,it is recommended to wear shoes with strong soles, such as shoes with bullion soles.Children should avoid wearing shoes with large soles such as rubber foaming materials in and out of school.
