Small-class teaching is a teaching activity mostly based on the students,which emphasizes the students' study level and their individual learning experience.Prose reading,as the important point of teaching,the stylistic features of which are responsible for the difficulty of students' reading.The fewer reading as well as poor sense of reading makes prose teaching in the high school more difficult.Based on small class and the teaching of prose,the study is expected to have a new look.Trying taking advantage of the prose teaching and researching practically,the prose teaching are supposed to have a better promotion.This article deals with relevant concept,related research and the common phenomenon in prose teaching in senior high school,whose teaching contents,teaching methods and evaluated method are covered.Comparing the small class with the regular class for one and a half year,the new strategy of the prose teaching has an obvious effect on improving students' reading ability of prose,under the basis of small class.The prose teaching of small class pays great attention to the students various requests,where various teaching methods can be applied to improve the efficiency of teaching and the creativity and enthusiasm of the students can be motivated in such a harmonious atmosphere which can contribute to excellent reading ability.
