| The ability to ask questions is a kind of intelligence level which refers to the students who can described the doubts in their minds in clear language after the processing of the students’ thinking through the observation and thinking of the real situation.The classroom teaching in primary and secondary schools pays more and more attention to the cultivation of students’ scientific inquiry ability and question raising has also attracted the attention of many educational researchers which as the first part of scientific inquiry since curriculum and teaching reform.This paper studies the ability of students to ask questions in physics class.On the basis of previous studies,the author formed an evaluation index system to evaluate the ability of high school students to ask questions in physics classroom.According to this,the questionnaire of the situation of senior high school students ’question-asking ability in physics classroom is designed.The author chooses the sophomore students and teachers of a middle school in Jiaozuo City as the research object.The present situation of students’ ability to ask questions in physics classroom is studied by classroom observation record method,questionnaire investigation and interview method.The results show that:(1)The general level of students’ ability to ask questions in physics classroom is poor.(2)Nowadays,the physics classroom is still based on the interactive way of teachers’ questions and students’ answers.Students have less chance to ask questions in the course of teaching,but most teachers will set aside time for students to ask questions alone in the classroom.(3)Teachers’ attitude towards students’ questioning in class: teachers think that students’ ability to ask questions in physics classroom is very important;teachers have taught students how to ask questions in class;teachers always give students opportunities to ask questions in class;most teachers are encouraged when they are faced with students’ questions.(4)Students’ attitude towards questioning in physics classroom: students think that the ability of asking questions in physics classroom is important;most students think it is necessary for teachers to set aside some time for students to ask questions in physics classroom.;most students have the opportunity to ask questions in the physics class.(5)The main factors affecting students’ ability to ask questions in physics classroom are: students’ lively character,preview before class,knowledge reserve,knowledge acceptance ability,language organization ability,and awareness of asking questions;whether the teacher explains the teaching material thoroughly or not,creates the classroom atmosphere.(6)There are significant gender differences in the ability to ask questions in physics classroom.(7)There are significant achievement differences in the students’ ability to ask questions in physics classroom.(8)There is a significant positive correlation between the ability of questioning in physics class and the students’ performance in normal time.Finally,the author puts forward some suggestions on how to cultivate students’ ability to ask questions in physics classroom based on the research results.Specific Suggestions are as follows:(1)Teachers should give full play to the main role of students in the classroom teaching process,create an active classroom atmosphere,stimulate the desire to explore physics,encourage and guide students to ask questions.(2)The teacher seeks the connection between the old and the new knowledge,and helps the students to ask questions at the same time to establish the old and new knowledge connection based on the existing knowledge structure of the students.(3)Implement the condition of preview before class,so that students can find problems during the preview process. |
