High school history textbooks are the indispensable teaching basis for history teachers to conduct history teaching.They are the most important learning materials for students as well.The appearance of multi-version textbooks has provided conditions for the comparative study of historical textbooks.This article takes the writing of the "New Culture Movement" topic as an entry point,and uses analytic research methods to compare the four versions of history textbooks at the microscopic level,through the comparison of "text system" and “textual auxiliary system” of the "New Culture Movement" topic among the four versions of history textbooks,we found:The structure of the PEP version is complete and the text language is highly concise;the “column” setting is novel and the overall arrangement of the content structure is reasonable;the text embodies the hierarchical target of knowledge and skills;and the design of the auxiliary “section” provides students with certain historical materials which help students acquire the learning method of “theory comes from history,combining history with theory” and develop students' historical thinking skills in the learning process.The most remarkable feature of the Yuelu version is that the content of the text and the auxiliary text are both very detailed.The historical materials in the “text system” are extremely rich as well as its content,and the knowledge covered is comprehensive;the “text auxiliary system” uses much more pictures than other versions which can stimulate students' interest in learning history.A large number of articles about the leading figures of the "New Culture Movement" are interspersed with references to the text,and contribute to improving the students' ability to read,summarize,and understand.The most prominent feature of the People's Edition is the rational organization of the knowledge structure and the clear logic of the narrative approach which accord with the cognitive ability of the high school students for historical concepts.Also,its evaluation of historical events is more objective and fair.In addition,it quotes certain opinions about the evaluation of historical events in the academic world and can diverges students' thinking about thinking.The feature of Beijing Normal University Edition is that its "text auxiliary system" column setting focus on the division and stage of the "New Culture Movement" which help students fully understand the impact and significance of the "New Culture Movement" in the modern history of China.Textbooks account for historical education.The transformation of their functions from "teaching textbooks" to "study textbooks" has become increasingly demanding for the multi-version high school history textbooks writing.The comparative study of the "text system" and "textual auxiliary system" of the "New Culture Movement" among different versions is only a small part of the study of the micro-field of textbook writing,expecting to provide some help for educational practitioners in teaching practice as well as some suggestions for the further characteristic of some topics writing of different versions.
